Caolan Baille looked to have pulled his hamstring last Wednesday night. He'll be saving a few novenas to be anywhere near fit come saturday evening!

I thought Gary Coffey would get a start for the Ports, he was playing in the seniors up until recently.

Very good match today thought we were going to nick it at end typical cran refereeing strange decisions againgst both teams if it wasnt for dule ports would be nothing easy win for crans in final

Good match right down to the whistle, didn't thik the ref done a bad job today. Definitely don't think it'll be an easy win for crans, think it'll be a similar match very tight.

Very poor game where most points were from frees. Few goal chances but fair play to Galgets young lads they put it up to us.

The refereeing wa bizaar!!

who ever scores the most goes into final but when s there going to be somnething done with the men in the middle,,,they wouldnt last 2 minutes in the south of ireland a disgrace. not a ref in this county and that s for the 3 clubs here that play senior hurling

The final has been fixed for Ballygalget at 4.00pm on Saturday 29th ref Declan Magee. Brought forward cause of the AA Ireland replay.

thought ports played way below their capabilities. ports full backs poor enough but their management canny see. a story of a game of frees. still in all 1 point is as good as 100000 points.

An average hurler can do the basics of the game at a reasonable pace given time and space.

A good hurler can do the basics of the game in less time and space than the average hurler.

A great hurler can do more than the basic skills of the game at full pace and under pressure.

On Saturday evening we witnessed two teams almost to the man full of average hurlers and this manifest itself by the amount of scores from play. I think Portaferry had three scorers from play, Dule with most, Rodgers with one, and a sub, was it Mageean?? Ballygalget was something similar with Eoin Clarke, Danny Toner and the other being P Rat.

Ports management were slow to react to a glaring weakness in their halfback line, why they waited to half time I really don't know. If the galgets had utilised Bo dukes strengths more and got him to pass to those who could take a score they'd a good outlet. Toner in the corner was also getting joy out of the debutant who was all at sea and IMO it was poor management to put two inexperience hurlers together in the same line. Eoin Clarke was also getting the better of his man BUT didn't get a goal or two to give them a chance and that was their downfall. Lack of (fit) options on their bench severely hampered them as well.

Ports were popping over the frees at the other end, but if we can stop Andy Savage and BA from feeding him we'll snuff out all these other great hurlers mentioned by another port poster last week, mark my words.

On a side note, how many mentors have Portaferry? They'd put a professional rugby team to shame. I hope the county board took note of this as well as take the gate!!

cement heed may be the county boord gave the passes, did ye ever think on that.

Not often or not even have or wud I agree with the block but have to admit ports management needs to change their game plan and a few positional changes r needed.

I'd suggest that both clubs were given enough passes for their players and a few mentors, physio, but what the Ports do is give the passes to all and sundry whilst they know their players are hardly going to be refused entry.

time for the CB to step in and ask for a list of support staff for each team and only they are allowed inside the wire, let alone free admission through the gate.
