Bunbuck he came out and spoke about it very clearly last year to the papers that he wasn't happy over lost earnings and mileage i think that was owed to him.

573941 I'm wth rhodejim on this one - if he's from rhode then he knows tyrrellspass football inside out and all the characters (and vice versa). Denis could very well go to offaly - the border is fairly unclear there between Ring and Croghan and an address could easily be found!

whoa... i never said he was going to transfer,i doubt he'd be interested. it'd be a pity to see a championship without one of the countries greatest forwards in it.

"
Thats hilarious
*how so?that doesnt make sense. "

Its hilarious because I think you really believe the rubbish you're spouting....lol

You're funny, keep up the good WIM work

WIM?im unsure as to what that is. I cant believe this, i came on here to say that imo dennis is a great forward and one of the best westmeath have ever had and im been ridiculed for it.

You're being ridculed because nobody wants to hear or cares what you think! Your previous posts irked a lot of people. Denis is a fine footballer and I disagree with any abuse he is getting on this page! But people have no respect for you. You have slandered dessie on this page in the past and I'm sure you have some connection with denis or you'd do the same with him. Trit trot off back to Offally

Worry about the state offaly football is in and we will worry about ours lad!

This is my first post. I feel the county board have a lot to answer for, for one the club championship doesn't encourage young players along. Playing championship games on bank holiday Mondays (which is often the case) or Friday evenings when a lot of people will have to travel long distances to get home. Who decided on these dates and for whos interest. Cause its not the players.

I know the team which won the National leauge in 2008 still havent recived there medels. What a joke....

How does the county board expect these players to respect them, winning a National leauge and not getting anything for it. Something needs to be done about this to make sure these players get what they worked hard for and what is owed to them. I'm sure ye all know someone that was on this panel and i ask ye to ask them if ye are unsure about what i said.

So maybe its not the team of players Dennis feels are inadequate of winning.....

no connection with dennis at all, drank a few times with him, like i drank a few times with alot of westmeath players.
oh i get it now. I think denny is a better footballer than dessie so thats why you have such a problem with me. ballnacrackyman was right, ye guys have to much a personnal vendetta against the man.

eh no chops i believe your wrong. that may have been the case i wont argue with you on that, but im fairly sure he himself never came out about the situation as hes obviously a very private man. and to all the others who are getting annoyed with rhodejim i rekon the lad is dead right. let the man speak, i dont doubt that he knows more about westmeath sport and the majority of monkeys writing in here. fairplay mate even though your not from westmeath your being unbiased and impersonal the way football should be and i like that

Am still with rhodejim. Am familiar with that neck of the woods myself - Rhode croghan tyrrellspass have more in common than many westmeath places. As he sadi himself he had a drink or two with dennis - and they all do. Calm down folks - listen to the chat at Derrygreenah bog any day and you'll know all the slagging (and respect) between the 2 counties.

glennon is the stephen ireland of westmeath football. he should nt be considered for selection anymore. this will only have a negative effect on team moral.

DCshoes . For a lad that its your first post i think ya might just have got it right in one !! Look lads this is also my first post but i do know a fair bit about the current westmeath football state, not so much about years ago though as i not originally from here.

Here is the thing, as a person Denis is misunderstood i believe. Hes actually a lovely lad but can also be his own worst enemy by some of his actions. I reckon the problem at the minute is that hes just completely disillusioned with the whole set up and direction and rightly or wrongly he has walked. Personally I believe he should have stayed for the overall good of the team! But !! its not hard to see how he is disillusioned, the county board had an opportunity after the departure of TOF to get in someone who had the respect of players and bring in an air of expectation and excitement. Instead of that they brought in a management team that no player that i know of was excited about. Every lad that was already established as a snr county player were more baffled than excited and when push comes to shove in a tight situation how can they row in behind a man when they dont really believe deep down in his knowledge of the game. And i dont care how many olympic medals ya have in the room, gaa lads are gaa lads and they dont give a crap about what a boxer or rower thinks they knows about football. County board an absolute joke i believe, and more football people in this county should be trying to replace the sham outfit thats at the helm. A major opportunity lost I believe with last appointment.

On another note, Dinny is def one of the best football players in the county no doubt. dont think Tpass in champ last year would have won any game without him, but that sure dont make him the best. from my limited knowledge he still has a ways to go to fill dessie shoes. Hopefully he will be back to do that as he certainly has the potential to be the best.

No true Westmeath fan doubts the ability of Denis. He is one of the best forwards around and contributed greatly to our success in 2004. He has his reasons for leaving the panel and that's his decision. This forum shouldn't be used to question his character of loyalty. If he never kicks a ball for Westmeath again he has contributed greatly to us. I remember when Westmeath were playing Div 4 football for years, so I think the people who are having a go at Denis are way out of line.

As for comparing him to Dessie, that's a bit unfair on him. Dessie is probably the best forward to ever wear the county jersey and if we ever see his likes again it will be an honour. Denis is a top top player in his own right. I think Westmeath fans should hope that both reso;ve their difference with the CB and are back for the championship.

Hear, hear to both Westofireland and Dessie 15 ! Their remarks are the most sensible of all the posts about Dennis. And we should all leave it at that !
