After 14 seconds of play the tackle occured!, just replayed it there. Never seen anything like it, treatment of the ref was poor. wil we ever stop this behaviour??.... Fair play to Kilmurray all the same

I know the ref ws poor,but the treatment he got at Full time wa shocking.That man who made a go for him is some fool.Then the supporters booing is not good at all for the GAA.This trend has been started by soccer fans.Tyrone and Dublin have been known to do it.Even at the end of Meath matches in Navan some of the supporters in the middle of the stand boo the ref off after the game.It should not happen.

A red card tackle after 2 seconds is the same as a red card takle after 22 minutes.

And to think many of you calling for leniency here were calling for Kenneally to be deported in chains back to Australia after the all Ireland final.

Reckless tackle and I think he deserved to go, a hard call on young Mulligan, but same call should have been made in All Ireland final with Kenelly. Top players get the leniancy.

I once got sent off about 20 mins before a game. I sneaked into the ref's room as he was getting changed, pinched his bottom and then ran offf with his shorts. He didnt see the funny side of it even though it honestly was hilarious

The referee was right to send him off.
Going by the rule book it would be a red card offence whether or not it was the first minute or the last.
As pointed out by someone earlier on the thread many believed after the All Ireland final that Kennelly should have got red for his challenge on Murphy and the same people would have said the same in 2005 when C. Whelan struck Crawford from Meath.

Definite red card. It makes no difference what time in the game it occured.

Some Portlaoise peoples behaviour thereafter was not good to see and we may not of heard the end of this game yet. The sending off so early in the game gave Kilmurry a big advantage and its hard to judge them on that game.

Cavan's Pierce McKenna got sent off in the opening minute in 2004 championship against Armagh. The was some pre-match "psyschology" in the tunnel and the parade and McKenna lost it and swung at Francie Bellew. Francie went down and needed lengthy treatment. Should've beaten them with 14 men all the same.

Right decision by the ref to send the lad off. It dosen't matter what time the foul occurred at. Just wonder thou did he go totally against Portlaois after that as some of the decisions against them were of the soft variety. Aslo I'd wonder if that was a Dara O Shea or Sean Cavanagh would he have made the same decision?

Ref was right to send player off,as for the treatment of the ref by some of the portlaois supporters was appaling.The ref was not to blame for how players approached the game.
