Omagh has improved greatly this last while. I have noticed a lot of buses coming in from Derry, Fermanagh, Belfast, Donegal. The Main Street complex holds 3 different bars and the area is gated of from the main town. Most of the people drink outside the pubs and there is normally a live band playing open air. Barbecues, Pizzeria all inside the one area, magic spot. Then you have McCanns, good trad pub and Sallys which is newly renovated. Atmosphere has improved greatly this last while, probably because of the influx of people from other areas. Give it a try omaghredhand (Tyrone) - Posts: 3656 - 20/02/2010 12:37:25 567750 Link 0 |

Derry is great for a night out, if your into getting tanked up and throwing bottles, stones etc at the Police as they just try to do their job. Used to love going out in Derry in the 90s (well before Orlaith's time) now I think there is a permanent nasty element out and about in Derry at the weekends, who make our s***bags look like choir boys. Best towns in my opinion would be Letterkenny, Galway, Cork and Kilkenny, although sadly the social life in this country is being destroyed by our idiotic government, who would have everybody tucked up in bed by 10 o'clock if they had their way. The licensing laws in this county need to be completely overhauled, with clubs being able to close at 5 or 6am if they so wish. gilly0512 (Galway) - Posts: 1176 - 20/02/2010 18:24:33 568106 Link 0 |

Anyone know if Thurles is any use for a night out? We're planning on heading there for the Saturday evening NFL 2 game against Tipp and staying the night to go on the rip. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9955 - 23/02/2010 11:29:23 570539 Link 0 |

Lived in Caralow for 5 years. Good nightlife. Lots of good pubs to choose from. Galway is probably the best in Ireland though, if you go that far. JPM1981 (Kildare) - Posts: 825 - 23/02/2010 11:44:35 570555 Link 0 |

Thurles and Shannon are boring. Thurles marginally better. Good craic there before a big game though. corkcelt (Cork) - Posts: 4388 - 23/02/2010 11:59:13 570573 Link 0 |
