Yeah but paddyogall, Sligo's success aside in 07, isn't it the same in Connaught? Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9972 - 18/02/2010 12:32:49 565364 Link 0 |
Thats because they earned them. there are no easy games in Ulster! laflour (Cavan) - Posts: 528 - 18/02/2010 12:41:13 565387 Link 0 |
Down have as good as a chance as every other team! Bit early Orlaith (Derry) - Posts: 4282 - 18/02/2010 14:32:09 565596 Link 0 |
I stuck 3euro on Bayern Munich to win the CL and Down to win Ulster. Pays 500. Though judging by Bayern last night it won't matter if Down romp to the Ulster Title! Cavan1947 (Cavan) - Posts: 215 - 18/02/2010 18:31:08 566001 Link 0 |

Think Down are comin on great guns , but feel they're a bit unlucky to get Donegal away. Just think Donegal wont wish to get caught out like last year and will be too strong. Also think youl see Dan Gordon back before the end of the year , and probably Darragh aswell. Like Colm McCullagh we all need to know we're loved and needed. gaelantrim (Antrim) - Posts: 1616 - 19/02/2010 10:26:20 566471 Link 0 |
great chance. Down are definately a team to watch. Very good under age teams over the last few years. JPM1981 (Kildare) - Posts: 825 - 19/02/2010 10:59:01 566515 Link 0 |
I think down have a great chance, they played very well against us in Newbridge and have a very mobile midfield pairing. Willie Nelson (None) - Posts: 972 - 19/02/2010 13:58:40 566886 Link 0 |
Its a bit early to be talking like this, having said that they have started well. Although the league is not great to judge on. They have a good panel of players and good management and if they can continue their form on, who knows. tir_eoghain_abu (Tyrone) - Posts: 773 - 19/02/2010 20:05:02 567530 Link 0 |
Come on Turbo, if you win one game in Connacht, you're into the provincail final. As was said earlier, there are no easy games in Ulster. Id say any Ulster county would have a much better chance of provincial success if they played in connacht, leinster or munster. Although Munster by far has the most competitive hurling championship. Leinster and connacht are neither here nor there when it comes to football and hurling championships, in terms of competition spiderpig123 (Down) - Posts: 175 - 20/02/2010 15:04:45 567911 Link 0 |
Id be confident of Donegal beating them. Lacey will take McComiskey out of it, Cassidy will do likewise on Marty Clarke. Neil Gallager is flying for Donegal this year and with Dan Gordon absent, I think we will the midfield battle. There also is the small matter of Michael Murphy too. Down struggled last year against Ryan Carson, how are they going to handle a quality full-forward? Rf (Donegal) - Posts: 291 - 20/02/2010 16:59:18 567999 Link 0 |
Down will be dark horses for Ulster along with Donegal. Donegal will be well up for the game after last years first round defeat in Ulster to Antrim and will not want a repeat. Galway11 (Galway) - Posts: 570 - 20/02/2010 19:51:29 568191 Link 0 |
Rf, while Lacey is busy looking after McComiskey who is going to mark Coulter & John Clarke? blu (Down) - Posts: 1240 - 21/02/2010 11:00:59 568345 Link 0 |
Down are always the forgotten men in Ulster, a team that always produces great players and never know when there beat, I expect Down to well in Ulster and beyond this year. fortyfive (Tyrone) - Posts: 5929 - 21/02/2010 11:27:34 568361 Link 0 |
