So you Ulster folk keep saying, yet Armagh and Tyrone and the only ones to seem to be able to win it.

Yeah but paddyogall, Sligo's success aside in 07, isn't it the same in Connaught?

I stuck 3euro on Bayern Munich to win the CL and Down to win Ulster. Pays 500. Though judging by Bayern last night it won't matter if Down romp to the Ulster Title!

Think Down are comin on great guns , but feel they're a bit unlucky to get Donegal away. Just think Donegal wont wish to get caught out like last year and will be too strong. Also think youl see Dan Gordon back before the end of the year , and probably Darragh aswell. Like Colm McCullagh we all need to know we're loved and needed.

great chance. Down are definately a team to watch. Very good under age teams over the last few years.

I think down have a great chance, they played very well against us in Newbridge and have a very mobile midfield pairing.

Its a bit early to be talking like this, having said that they have started well. Although the league is not great to judge on. They have a good panel of players and good management and if they can continue their form on, who knows.

Come on Turbo, if you win one game in Connacht, you're into the provincail final. As was said earlier, there are no easy games in Ulster. Id say any Ulster county would have a much better chance of provincial success if they played in connacht, leinster or munster. Although Munster by far has the most competitive hurling championship. Leinster and connacht are neither here nor there when it comes to football and hurling championships, in terms of competition

Id be confident of Donegal beating them. Lacey will take McComiskey out of it, Cassidy will do likewise on Marty Clarke. Neil Gallager is flying for Donegal this year and with Dan Gordon absent, I think we will the midfield battle. There also is the small matter of Michael Murphy too. Down struggled last year against Ryan Carson, how are they going to handle a quality full-forward?

Down will be dark horses for Ulster along with Donegal. Donegal will be well up for the game after last years first round defeat in Ulster to Antrim and will not want a repeat.

Rf, while Lacey is busy looking after McComiskey who is going to mark Coulter & John Clarke?
Ambrose is playing great in midfield to match yours, & Down's defence has been re-shaped & is looking very solid at the minute.

It is very early for predictions but will be a tough game to call. Might come down to the managers. McCartan is new to the job & has the whole panel behind him.
Doherty has the ongoing problems of inter-club politics to deal with.

It will be interesting!

Down are always the forgotten men in Ulster, a team that always produces great players and never know when there beat, I expect Down to well in Ulster and beyond this year.

Lacey will mark McComiskey, Benny Coulter, John & Martin Clarke at the one time. Leaving Donegal 3 extra players to rip them up. . . Waaaa-Hoooo!!!
