Head Shops - burning to the ground

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

It happened in Derry 2 or 3 weeks ago, A shop called 'Red Star', The RAAD does it?
I dont agree with people selling legal highs or drugs, I agree with drugs but there could be other ways to get the people and their shops away without shooting the owner?

At least people have a better alternative to these disgusting head shops and their horrible dangerous products - the drug dealers and gangs and their homemade concoctions.

Rossielassie:

Alcohol is very much as lethal and dangerous as anything sold in a Head Shop. Don't forget that the things in Head Shops are legal, the same way alcohol is legal.

Apologies, but 100% BS. "think of the children wahwahwahwah" i don't use head shops either.

You are on an uphill battle because you haven't made a reasoned argument not because other people have taken drugs.

Only BS here is you sunshine! And your ignorance says it all. You have no sense if you think people taking the drugs they buy in there has effects on others.
Im not here trying to be mother teresa or mary poppins BUT I HAVE worked with Adults and Children, who either have taken drugs or parents took drugs and it does affect their development. By allowing shops to sell certain drugs that are not prescribed for ailments (like chemists) means you are saying that recreational drugs are acceptable.and its not. Mild drugs or otherwise.

I agree that it can be lethal also. I think it is a shame that they are legal. I know they pay tax etc. I am not strict though, i am open minded but I dont see the need for them at all. Yes i went to college and see alot, and worked in USA with plenty of potheads but at the end of the day people cant ignore that these drugs have side effects, and the good ones dont last last, the bad ones do.

No, you have worked with people who needed help. For every one person that needs help because of their drug taking, there are plenty who take the same drugs and dont need any help, just like alcohol abuse. Im sorry rossielassie, but breffni and mesamis are right, these are legal substances, so if people want them banned they have to prove they are dangerous. Personally i dont see why people are so against them, they are taking the place of criminal drug-dealers, i know it may not be perfect, but surely it is an improvement

Pubs/Off licences or Head Shops or all places that provide legal highs?

How is it an improvement, because they are in a building with a shop sign, rather than in an alleyway, or in a carpark or whatever?
Do you think people start of taking drugs like heroin or cocaine first, or did they start by other drugs that are minor compared to them, like hash or magic mushrooms and then move up the scale?
I would only agree to legalising something like hash, but ONLY for terminally ill cancer patients.

Can someone give me their honest opinion, without shooting me down on it. Like whats the attraction, Would you be worried that your kids bought things from there? Im open minded to accept that my views are different from anyone else but I just dont get them at all.

Dell, you started a thread about "Lawless Ireland" a while ago, looking for ways to eliminate the gangs and drug dealers. Legalising some or all of these substances would be the best way of doing this.

Rossielassie, may I refer you to the Drugs Thread where you will find plenty of rebuttals to your silly theories.

Dell this username of yours... I have a question regarding the origins of it...!

You feel embarrassed about the circumstances that gave birth to ur nickname.... yes?

Were you perhaps under the influence of a legal high at the time?

All drugs should be banned every single one and drug dealers locked up and the key throwing away.

silly theories? Oh so im to listen to people who have taken drugs and are totally fine, how much of a % of the population is on this thread? And those who do have side effects or bad trips or what ever, have they posted, where are they?
My main opinion on this is based on what ive dealt and to deal with, regarding my job. You may laugh, mock or ignore what I say but you wouldnt like your children to be effected by drugs.

Dell:

I don't care about Head Shops one way or the other but I don't like peoples attitude towards them when Pubs do more damage to people than these shops do.

Remember the drug dealers you despise (and rightly so) would very much like these Head Shops to close down too.
