Head Shops - burning to the ground

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

It seems from the two incidents over the last week that locals are taking matters into their own hands (something which the goverment wont). what do HS users think of these developments. i know of a girl locally who was put in hospital after a visit to a head shop. I say fair play to whoever is attacking these places.

Are you real????? That is a crazy statement! People could be burned to death. Innocent people breaking no laws, working in them or possibly living above/beside them? And you want them attacked?????

What "businesses" would be affected by head shops? Could they have played a part in these events I wonder?

Was there not a guy in Sligo (could be wrong on the location) who owned one of thesse shops and said he had been threatened by gangs and drug dealers in the area because he was affecting their "businesses".

Think that this is a more likely possibility than a few locals doing the vigilante thing.

Or it could just be a few hardcore Joe Duffy / Liveline listeners...

If people agree with the burning of these shops then I presume they'd agree with the burning of Pubs and Off licences?

Well said.

Dont forget these head shops are paying tax.... so the government are only too happy to take it... i.e They are contributing to the economy.

No i dont agree with burning of pubs and off licences.
Alcohol is, in my view not as lethal as other drugs people take.
Pubs and off licences do not stay open until 4am like some of these shops. Alcohol cannot be bought after a certain time in the evening in off licences. These shops are not needed and encourage bad behaviour. Now i know im on a uphill battle as alot of people on this site has admitted to taking drugs and they are fine. ~I have not, nor would not. I work with children and see the problems that are in families due to taking drugs, of any kind! To allow these shops to exist is to allow the idea of taking drugs for fun to exist.
And how are we suppose to teach our kids that drugs are bad when we are not leading by example. And yes Alcohol can be viewed in that light. Im not a big drinker so if the pubs and off licences closed in the morning, it would not bother me.
There is not one thing good about head shops, you dont need to take drugs to enjoy yourself, end of story!
Bugs me so much to see people defending these shops, wasters!

i just think its really obvious that these attacks were carried out by drug dealers. its directly affecting their "business" and they are definetly mental enough to do it

Apologies, but 100% BS. "think of the children wahwahwahwah" i don't use head shops either.

You are on an uphill battle because you haven't made a reasoned argument not because other people have taken drugs.
