Yeah Dermot Flynn should get the job. Mark Fanning has a good future but is too inexperienced to replace Fitzy just yet.

Is that last years minor goalie? He is a right chap, Fitzy was only 19-20 when he started as well, if hes good enough hes old enough

Fair point but i dont think he is up to Fitzys standard. He let in a very soft goal in the Leinster final. and I didnt think he was anything special in this years minor county final

mondred, you are obviously more up to speed with the hurling scene than i am, im more of a big ball person. Is there anyone else out there, young or otherwise ? Only 2 people have been mentioned here, flynn and fanning. Is that a fair reflection or is goalkeeping talent scarce ??

Fanning has a lil bit of growing up to do yet... I would have held his personal error responsible for at least 1 goal he conceded to Kilkenny in last year's minor match against them... He should involved with the senior squad, absolutely, but I think he needs to bide his time for a while yet!

class1984 i dont rate fanning because of his attitude ,to be honest ,any player who get taken off and throws his jersey at the line and then goes straight to the dressing room would hardly be considered as valuble to a team right
