Good man 32, finally accepting that Celtic are Scottish. So, by definition, if they're Scottish, then they are also ...

Just kidding. I won't mention Celtic and the B word in the same sentence, EVER AGAIN!

I think people are getting confused between Britain and the UK.

Britain is an island, not a country, collection of country or anything else. The United Kingdom is a country, comprised of three distinct nations, and a province of a fourth nation.

British refers to both the island of Britain and the country that is the UK.
Anyone or thing from Scotland is, by definition, British by virtue of being from the island of Britain. In terms of nationality, they can choose to define themselves as either Scottish or British, either would be correct.

Much the same, anyone from Northern Ireland is Irish, by virtue of being from the island of Ireland, but could also choose to define their nationality as British (as the majority of Unionists do).

It's like the west side of Craggy island. It broke off and floated away

as a scot of irish descent living in ireland I want to make it clear I am in no way BRITISH. I think I have said before land mass or international or national laws won't change what is in a persons soul. I also don't think celtic games are in anyway nationalist in the true sense. They are steeped in the tradition of the unionist labour party, just look at who is on the board.

Celtic V Liverpool might be an attraction for some but won't do anything to help promote the gaa in glasgow or liverpool as the political edge to the game and the bevvy mercahnts who will invade Dublin will not do the gaa 's relationsship with local residents any good.

On the subject of Hibs. They are a club more at ease with their sense of Irishness being a good bit removed from the west of scotland sectarianism which affects soccer there.

in a bid to end sectarianism and religious bigotry perhaps rangers should be invited to play in croke park
