564346 Again more spin omagh red hand! NFL 1 is a seperate competition to league to 2 are they competing on the same league table as NFL 2? No so they do not have to worry about how much tv coverage the lesser teams or competitions receive! They only have to worry about the teams in the same league as them! Grow up and don't try defend what is nothing more than a childish strop by Mickey Harte!

It is not a different competition, different grade maybe but not a different competition. You don't seem to have the ability to structure a reasonable argument so you resort to telling meto grow up!! I think you need to take a look at yourself instead of coming on here and making an idiot of yourself. If you can't understand the basis of Harte's argument of consistency and equality then go back to the CBBC website, its more your level

if the match referees were up to scratch there would be less of this indiscipline in the first place. Too often it is the reaction to the initial crime that gets pulled up. I was at down the Derry and Mayo games and on neither occassion did the ref give us the protection we, a quality footballing outfit, would expect.

Omagh red hand you have not made legitmate argument against my point yet you are just jumping on the Mickey Harte band wagon and shouting 'yea what he said! How does the amount of coverage leitrim or waterford or any other county outside the NFL 1 have any effect on tyrone? None is the answer you can only feel aggrieved or 'disadvantaged' if you are recieving more tv coverage than the teams in your division that Tyrone compete against!

Thats a legit argument now lets see you say something that to defend that point without trying to throw an alternative spin on something Mickey Harte has already said which made no sense then either!

Good to see your county board is starting to see sense on this issue

Well guys I heard the morning that the Tyrone management has agreed to write to GAA HQ to seek their help in restricting the intrusive nature of television companies which is apparently affecting the ability of the players to perform effectively in the game.

If this is acted upon by the GAA bosses at Croke Park, could I then pose the question should one county in Ireland be allowed to manipulate what or what not the GAA fans may see or not see in the rest of the country???

This is a stupid point being made by Harte. If you get caught out on tv then its your own tough luck. As someone said if you do the crime do the time. Mayo two full games have been shown on tv which if im not wrong is more than Tyrones tv time. So how can they say they are being more scrutinised than others. noone yet suspended by the cccc from Mayo. which proves the point that having tv cameras round isnt a reason for players to be more likely to be suspended if they are playing the game fairly. In my opinion its down to managers and the players themselves to show discipline whether there are cameras or not.

JimJim - you have hit the nail on the head, which I know you didnt mean to. As you state the cameras where rolling at Tyrone v Mayo match ronaldson hit Ricey a elbow to the face yet as you have stated the CCCC have'nt issued a ban to this MAYO player, now how can you say this is a level playing field whenever the week before when Tyrone played Derry 4 players where suspended for a month 3 Tyrone players 1 Derry player. If video evidence is going to be used in a manner that all teams be treated as strictly as Tyrone then fair enough but as you have stated yourself JimJim that is'nt happening.

CCC have proposed a 4 week ban for ronaldson as a result of the tyrone game. Maybe the furore raised by mickey will bear fruit after all and the CCC will start analysing all incidents not just selective ones

Thought I was reading the paper upside down, Tyrone bottom of Div 1 and Bottom of the Fair Play league, oh it's all the fault of the TV coverage, what has happened about Mc Mahon and Mc Menamin last Sunday, surely one cant get away with verbal abuse to a Referee and criticising those in Dublin suspending players.

I have made the point before that Tyrone players must realise they are in the spotlight and will be suspended whereever that becomes a possibility and discpline is the key.
That said there is a two pronged psychological advantage in seeing this happen now. It is a difficult line to walk but...
1. get the players and supporters mad to right the injustice so determined to win or die in ice-cold, focused discplined aggression and team together against the world
2. let CCC do Mickey's job for him by instilling determination and discipline in the players (with no resentment of Mickey for the lesson they are being taught by the big bad machine the Southern hypocrites of CCC) Determined to prove their rights to the next All-Ireland despite the rest of the system all against them (it seems!) having been taught the necessary discipline by punishment (coupled with injury free rest when it is needed in February and March) onwards and upwards and &%^& the be-grudgers with all the hungry stars back to carry their comrades to victory... or am I just a daft conspiracy theorist?

Mickey is a master of all the mind-games but this would be a dangerous mountain track with cliffs on either side! An all or nothing gamble but with this mix of old and new on the panel perhaps the only way to make them gel and fight (within the rules, if on the edge - which is where you need to be to win!)

Cooney rules out Tyrone TV boycott

GAA President Christy Cooney
19 February 2010

GAA president Christy Cooney has insisted there is "absolutely" no chance of Tyrone avoiding playing in front of the TV cameras.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The most important man in the GAA has laid down the law and has bluntly told Tyrone that they are oiut of line in their thinking. Time for Tyrone to stop blaming others for their troubles and start looking at themselves.

Coa-Gael, there has been 31 posts on the Fermanagh board this week. I would have though that you all might have enough to talk about sorting your own outfit out without getting involved in something that doesn't concern you. As I said to the Armagh man, TV coverage doen't affect you guys except for the odd championship match once or twice a year so don't worry about it

You should agree with him then irvinestown gael then you could use it as an excuse for Fermanaghs pathetic performances.Truth is though that Mickey Harte is not blaming tv coverage for any of Tyrones defeats,he is merely stating the fact that these procedures of reviewing games are not being implemented in a fair manner.Other county teams are being unfairly affected also just look at what Derry manager D. Cassidy is saying on the matter.

Don't like to admit it as I'm a big fan of Harte, however the main thing is just trying to get on with the TV cameras being there. It's been on Setanta now for the past couple of years, and I enjoy the coverage. Most important thing now is to get these players back from suspension and tell them to have a calmer head when in front of the cameras, as the CCCC just love to see these types of situations coming their way. And there's no point in complaining about TV coverage now, because if Tyrone make the All-Ireland Quarter Finals, Semi Finals and Final, those games will all be on RTE. The GAA is just marketing itself these days, so of course Tyrone games will be televised, for the reason that Tyrone are now one of the biggest footballing counties in Ireland, and the interest in their games is huge, therefore the County Board always knew they would be unsuccessful in getting these games banned from live coverage.
