Always luved me Mundies wine before the old school disco , always got off with a gurl at the D.I.S.C.O until I threw it back up all over my John Travolta white suit , was like drinking Bronchial medicine . mmmm Benylin .

I remember when working in A&E in Altnagalvin way back in the 80s that it was very big amongst the young people of the city, A&E used to stink of it on a Friday and Saturday night when the teenage discos finished, Foyle street jungle juice we called it. On The subject of Buckfast my granny used to take a glass of it before bed time because it said Tonic Wine on the label and bottled by Monks. Her halo never slipped hic! hic! hic!.

Buckie beerbaron??? Have you started following Glasgow Rangers? It is a well known fact that it is very popular with the Billy Boys in Scotland, maybe that's why they are always angry. Manchester was awash with Buckie at the UEFA Cup final in 2008 FACT. There were 1000's of empty Buckie bottles cleared off the streets after Rangers fans wrecked Manchester. I know the Scottish Executive have had discussions with the monks and distributors who make and sell Buckie. It is a massive problem in Scotland.

I have heard a rumour about the 'Buckfast' triangle - running from Craigavon to Lurgan to Portadown. A bit like the Bermuda Triangle i think as things tend to go missing etc.....

Have been to the Trip to Tipp many years ago and a young fella from Armagh City drunk 4 bottles of Buckie during the day. Surprisingly he managed to hold things together. didnt understand one word of what he was talking about, but the fact he was still on his feet was astounding.... A feat that even Rab C Nesbitt or Jamesy Cotter couldnt cope with!!

as a former consumer of old kentucky I can confirm that it is scotland's national drink and crosses all social and religeous boundaries. Thre was a funny scene on the news a couple of years back when some scottish jstce minister was ranting on live tv in the middle of a housing reservation. she was heckled by Glasgow jakies and neds for trying to ban buckie.

it's the drink of champions, i've been drinking it for over ten years, its the only way to get ya started for a good night out, but no more than vodka ya can build up a fair tolerance for the stuff, when i first took it as a wee 15 year old ya would be uncontrolable on the stuff and a public liability
