No disrespect to this competition but there are a few clubs playing in it recently and I wonder how they qualified for entry to it as I have yet to hear a word of Irish spoken in their area in everyday life. I always thought that this competition was open only to those areas who use the native language on a day to day basis and the competition provided a platform for all native speakers to socialise at the games.

to the pointer, as you are obviously a st eunans man and therefore most likely to come from sligo, mayo, westmeath, etc etc i will explain it for you. it is not the ability to speak irish that gets a team into the gaeltacht, there has to be a part of your club boundry to be in an area officialy recognised as being in the gaeltacht, although seeing as your team come from all over ireland, perhaps there is somebody on your squad who does come from an area in the gaeltacht and therefore maybe you have a claim to enter it from that perspective!? although in that case perhaps st eunans would prefer to take part in the connacht championship, as there are no teams like the mighty kilcoo in there, maybe you would have a better chance of winning a few games in it! just a thought!

You will never know about the Ulster Club Sam....typical jealous rant.... we have very few players that aren't from Letterkenny, what club are you from ? Do you mean that if someone moved to your area you wouldn't want them to play for you ?

Surprise surprise I am like most of my fellow club folk not from outsde the County I'm a true native of Letterkenny smart ass and why I was asking was that I know of a club that tried to enter a junior team in the competition nearly 20yrs ago but couldn't get in as their area did not sil use the native language so keep your stupid coments to yourself know little.

my gosh pointer you have taken this really bad!! i was merely stating the fact that as you come from a town with only around 20,000 inhabitants its obvious you would have to go to newtown, westmeath, sligo, mayo etc etc to get management & players, most rural parishes sympathise with your problem!!. does the fact i was not at the all ireland final somehow stop me from having sam1992 as my name or means i am not allowed to comment on this forum? i (like many others) am just fed up with eunans bloggers like yourself, eunans4ever etc etc commenting on every thread, taking the moral highground on every point, slagging teams in the div4 forum, and now shoving their two pence worth on the gaeltacht championship aswell. go to any eunans game and you will see the same old 25 heads that are true dyed in the wool supporters, go on county final day and they are there in their thousands. a soul-less club, whos fans cannot identify with their players. with respect a few great men and women behind the scenes, the rest merely gloryhunters. its in these other small clubs that keep the traditions of local gaa alive, families and the local community brought up at the heart of it. keep this in mind for when this successful period has passed, we will see where eunans are if they go through another barren period like in the late 80's early to mid 90's. where will your county final supporters be then???

Pointer, this sam1992 is most likely another 1 of these anti-eunans posters who hold these grudges for no other reason than jealousy of our success...
He is most likely from 1 of as you say english speaking areas entering gaeltacht competion simply because his club has no hope of winning any meaningful competition or is from one of our neighbours the gaels, termon or glenswilly who cant handle that his small trophyless club cant compete with our success...

Well Sam1992 if theres one thing I have not done on this Forum is knock as you say the junior clubs your the one that got your back up on this forum with your stupid allegations and by the way the GAA was not just formed for rural areas you know after al it had its birth in an urban area where it was formed for all the Irish people. My own view on his issue is that its god the rules have changed to allow other clubs into the competition but your to full of venom against Eunans to se that.

Ah the hoganstand is back to its best. A few posters on just so they can annoy everyone else into commenting. Back to the days of Fat Al (What has happened to Fat Al????) and all thanks to people's jealousy of St. Eunans. Keep up the excellent work Pointer and Eunans4ever talk nonsense and annoy everyone else. Oh the All Ireland gaelteacht championship is the best way to spend a June bank holiday highly recommended.

Best of luck to you and your Club in the Gaelthacht Championship truth speaker I attended the finals one year and it definately was a great occasion down in Gweedore if Ican recall rightly now there was a number of clubs involved including a team from Meath and one from Waterford .I think its a great competition and my only reason for being on this forum was wondering if the rules had been relaxed to allow more teams enter but then Sam1992got the wrong end of the stick.

no sam 1992 certainly did not get the "wrong end of the stick" ive went through all the threads on hogan stand today pointer and i have to say you are like a playground bully, ramming your opinions down everyones throat and then changing your tune when stood up to. you werent asking were the rules changed, you were making a snide remark and dont even know the rules, i'll see you and the rest of the fair weather eunans supporters on county final. id bet your not even a real gael, just sumbody with a kid playin gaelic and then thinking you know everything, typical really.

Never said I was from a gealtacht club. Well you only posted your original comment to have a go at Glenswilly, Termon Milford…… or what ever club it was so Sam1992 didn't get you mixed up. Plus if a person of your age has nothing better to do but come on here and wind people up that is terrible.
Well said Sam1992.

thank you truth speaker, we all love the banter in gaa, thats what makes it, but guys like eunans forever, pointer etc etc just come on to have a go at everybody and then when you stand up to them its always because "we are jealous of eunans". thats what i mean by glory hunters, the only thing that matters to them is winning senior county titles, which fair play to them they always do well in, but gaelic is about under 10's, coaching, minors, reserves, supporters, communities, all under age teams, scor, fundraising, but most of all guys gettin a game and going up through the ranks, not just bringng in outsiders to win at senior level. pointer and eunans forever, you dont know the first thing about our beloved gaa's traditions!!!
