Maroonboy: I was confident that London had it in them at the start of the year, but the performances by TCG's and London in the Waterford NFL game have made me revise my optimism somewhat! Undoubtedly things change, and Champo is always a different kettle of fish to League, but I think London need a couple of decent League performances to get some confidence. Having said that, Roscommon haven't made a great start either.
As to whether London can make it to the Final, I think not. Even if they beat the Rossies, I think the euphoria would be so much that Leitrim would win the semi. It is a great chance for London though.

What TCG players played against Waterford, what was bad about them. Were you at the game?

Londonsupporter: I meant the TCG's game against Kilmurry! There was great optimism about a potential TCG's victory and it was a big disappointment. With regard to the Waterford game, I think having beaten them last year, London would and should have been targeting that game this year. Admittedly there are training / fitness issues, but I thought London played well against Limerick and should have pushed Waterford closer.

Just back from the Wicklow game! I've tried my best to defend them, but that was just awful! Wicklow 4-13 - London 1-5!!!

Forwards were brutal, poor shooting and let Wicklow get the ball out of defence way too easily.

Thought Johnny Hughes was very good. Conor Beirne and Danny McBride also done well.

I was at the Wicklow game too. Basic errors really cost London. Poor decision making and not taking opportunities when they came along. Should have been a goal ahead after 30 seconds. Wicklow played well to be fair to them, very ruthless. Horan still looks London's best performer, even at full forward. London's only consolation is that they have got the two top teams out of the way. Ironically, the move for London's goal showed what they can do!

killian phair has been london's best forward by a country mile when the ball is delivered in, thought seanie furlong gave the corner back an awful time and should of been switched alot earlier.any thoughts on this

london dont have enough quality to play at a high level , especially when there is players from north london shamrocks. players should play pn their quality not the country they were born in !!!!

I thought Hughes had a poor game, Obviously finished off a great team goal, but he done so much pointless running and looked abit like a headless chicken at times!

Was my first chance to see the much praised Horan and Fitzgerarld and have to say was very disapointed! They were switching between FF and MF to little effect!

But in saying that Wicklow were very good and the full forward line gave the London backs a nightmare afternoon!

Could have been alot worse, the London keeper should have got a straight red in the first 5 minutes!

according to the program NLS had a lad on the bench too. the full back line got a serious going over with seanie furlong having a field day. the half back line were trying to pick up ball from breaks unsuccesfully leaving good forwards tonnes of space to run into. Midfield was poor. the fullforward line were starved, but when they got the ball they could do damage, that looks like half the problem.
the keeps challange was rash, a lad in the kilmurray game got sent off for less yesterday in the first 60 seconds

in looking at the bench, i am not so sure they have depth in the panel as that number 22 looked like less of a county player that the much discussed donnellan

Well lads i was in Ruislip on Saturday and a bit like Macattack was very disapointed at the performance.....but even more disapointed i missed the soccer match as an Everton fan and we actually beat United....but anyway back to Gaa....London were poor yes...but Wicklow are a good side and with the players the London team are missing at the moment from the TCG and the other fly ins we are waiting for...i was not expecting to much...Although it is hard not to be disapointed when they turn in such a poor lifeless performance.....i see Donnellan wasnt playing or brought on.....must be training hard...as i said his ability is not in question....just maybe his commitment and pride in playing for London.....but i hope i am proved wrong.....

Thanx Londonlad for responding to my question about John Myler and Andy Brady as i did see their names listed in the programme....so they have signed for the St Kiernans have they????...i know you are a Kiernans man so do let me know how they do.......Think that was Myler who came on wasnt it???? he looked alright.....but are they yet another example of lads coming straight over never having played for their London clubs and straight into a London panel on reputation ALONE....i know you might say basher and dunning and whoever can asses them in training.....but still it wouldnt happen in any other county....although if McGee become available you would want him on board....but players like McGee are stand out players..surely anyone just over should have to earn a call up to the county...unless as i said stand out examples like McGee of Pearson become available....THEN even i couldnt argue with that

John Meyler seemed good, and will hold his position. London are badly lacking on forwards and if they dont find the talent let it be within the clubs of London or new to London so be it, without them they wont win a game. Hughes took his goal well, but as someone commented it wasnt his best game.

When talking about McCloskey people have to be realistic. He played for inter-county for Leitrim. Given their playing numbers i'm sure that most good club players in other counties would be inter county players if they were playing in Leitrim. He got destroyed by o'dwyer in the All-Ireland club quarter final. O'Dwyer is an average footballer who is headless when he gets the ball. Also Kilmurry will be absolutely anhilated by portlaoise. It will be another barren championship for London.

I think it is safe to saw THAT MR CLAWHAMMER FROM WEXFORD DOESNT HAVE A CLUE ABOUT ANYTHING HE TALKS ABOUT...........HUMBLE PIE FOR YOU SIR.

Thought Hughes done well myself. With the forwards not at the races he never got time for a breather. Killian Phair is a decent forward but he was wasteful on a number of occasions on Saturday. They need this McGee lad and a few others ASAP.

I would agree with you, K Phair is very average, and took a few attempts to score and he was no where near, very wasteful. McGee would be a huge help. Again Geraghty done well, as did Beirne, a few good passes into forward line, they have to be the most consistent players thus far. I thought Byrne was lucky not to be sent off after blatantly taking a forward out of it, fair play to Ref for only giving the Yellow card.
