I think it might be no harm for the shamedmodelman to have a look at the point that was made rather than trying to twist it.

lads you don't want to be putting to much pressure on the minors.too much emphasis on underage is not good.look at galway for the last ten years.and clare only last weekend.kilkenny don't do it.cumerford was never a minor!! so relax a bit.led the lads hurl and with experience hopefully we'll get 6 or 7 seniors from that panal.it's realy 21-24 that the stars are made generally so cool it a bit

sorry doyler i disagree 100% if your good enough your old enough and the sooner a minor joins senior ranks the sooner he adapts the future seems to be bright enough on the hurling front if minded properly yoy said about comerford yeah maybe he didnt but look at shefflin power hogan cha and the the o halpins etc and joe canning cloonan kellys mcgraths etc

if lads are exceptional talented\ playing college hurling \ senior hurling for club straight after minor i then d include them in the senior panel. wouldnt want to rush young lads though, theres a massive gap between minor and senior, i reckon give lads are year of playing under 21 and college hurling then id introduce them like what bonner is doing with eoin moore, shane tompkins, willie deveraux, paudie kelly, emmet kent, make them feel like there part of the squad but not quite ready to start yet.these lads need a year or 2 to harden them up and prepare them for the rigours of senior intercounty hurling.

agree with that cragask....he tried john leacy and paudraig donnelly in challange games just before the walsh cup just to give them a look at where they will need to compete but i honestly feel you'll ruin lads if you rush thier developement.look at eoin doyle..i thought he was flying but the took him out for the real pressure games.what happens at that level at a young age can leave a lasting mark on them.i still say the cork game of 04 did huge damage to alot of our young hurlers of that time.lads that were so promising in leinster went off the map completely.but what a pool of players were looking at in the coming years if their potential converts to fine hurlers.like o'keefe, mcgovern, tomkins, moore.leacy, donnelly and even andrew shore i think will be really good.the backbone of our team has around 4 years left, namely rossi, roche, stamp, gizzy, quigley and rory jacob.if we can bring on these younger players enough in the next 2-3 years were looking at a formidable squad.before those lads above retire i'd really like to win division one.crazy saying it now i know but we got within 70 minutes of the final 3 years ago.if we can go this far back in that time we can improve that much in that time also..any views ???

well said doylerwex.
john leacy is a fantastic young hurler and i think bonner has done a fine job in the development of the harry keheos and eoin doyles of this world. andrew shore, skillwise and hurling wise is a long way short of where he needs to be to become a top hurler- he has all the physical attributes required and has shown glimpses of real potential but dont think he should be a starter right now. glynn barntown could be a surprise package in the county champioships, they have craig doyle, john leacy, padraig donnely hurling for them- hopefully they all continue to develop.

as regards eoin doyle- i think he has been immense and really felt for the lad when he was dropped for the league final- i think doing that will damage his confidence more than starting and having a bad game. sometimes a lad being roasted and thrown in the deep end can teach them more- if you feel there good enough throw them in the deep end and see. of course you'd be wary about doing it but in eoin doyles case, having hurled so well in every league game and againts clare in ennis, i felt it was harsh not starting him in the final.totaly understand the desicion and it was vindicated but if roche aint fit for galway- doyle should start.i wouldnt even consider bringing travers back- hes a good hurler and decent wing back but as regards a corner back- no way-he is far to loose and casual and has been given to many roastings by too many players to consider it happening again. my team for galway would be(right now- injuries), n carton-e doyle- k rossiter- c kenny- m travers-d stamp- r keheo- pj nolan- c farrell- d lyng- e quigley- t waters- k keheo( play him as a third midfielder), s banville- r jacob... if roche were fit id start him ahead of travers and bring kenny back out to half back line.. p roche if fit- should mark irla tannian and doyle on hayes- speed with speed. i know itd be a risk ( cork 04) but having been so impressive during the league & showing this amount of faith in him would give him huge confidence- hopefully he would repay it with an inspired performance.

next year we should just focus not being relegated- survival will be achieved by winning our home games and beating offaly\ dublin\waterford and giving the other games a good lash. maybe in 2\3 years we can be realistic about challenging for division 1 titles- lot of work to be done before then.

Something totally wrong there that we don't get home advantage.
Dublin get a second bite at the cherry and then get home advantage.
I know I wouldn't be complaining if it was the other way around but in the back of my mind I'd still know there was something not right about that.
The home advantage is a huge thing for these young fellas.

its a disgrace that we dont get home advantage. really doesnt make any sense what so ever. how and ever, wel beat dublin regardless of where its played. talented team mixed in with hard work and a fiercely determined manager- succes.

hold on now a second boys ,ger doyle and his county board made no effort to bring the football game to wexford park it would have filled wexford park to the rafters so i cant see them losing too much sleep over a minor hurling game .once again wexford get the wrong side of the draw ,does not suprise me really be better preparation for kilkenny if they can take the dubs in parnell show great team win twice away from home

yeah good to see alright. I thought Clarke would have made the starting line up of the minor team. hes a big strong fella with lightning pace and creates and scores goals too

A good club team wouldn`t need minors on their team.. The fact that a lad who can`t get on the minor team is able to get on harriers team points to why they can`t beat oilgate

Don`t disagree class84 but a big town with one senior hurling club shouldn`t need a 17 year old on the team.. Would it happen in KK/Galway/Waterford/Tipp.. Maybe if the kid was a superstar???
