558527 United didnt deserve any of their European titles... look at the state of their jerseys when they won those trophys... disgusting. No one with football jerseys like that deserve a medal... perhaps a medal in the worst dressed footballer's of the year awards..

What sort of Celebration was that by Best!! uuuuuuuhhhh...!! look at me... I'm going to run around with my arms in the air... It's ok George! the barman saw you...!

I hear that they sacrifised goats to Satan beofre each and everyone of those finals... booooh!! Animal cruelty is evil.. especially when its offered to the dark lordOle Gunnar Solskjaer looks like a baby.. no way he should be allowed to score the winner in a major final... he looks like a baby for God sake! Perhaps this is a case for child cruelty.. there's laws about this kind of thing

QPR 4ever!!

I was proud of that line... not one reply! Ungrateful gits...

JIMBO

That is the most ridiculous arguement I have ever heard. It's not the jerseys, it's the players in them. If Dublin win the all-Ireland this year, I bet you won't be complaining about the ridiculous new jerseys. Do you think football is a sport or a fashion show?

As for Bests celebration, a player of his class didn't feel the need to slide 10 yards on the ground and wait for his team-mates to jump on top of him like lovers.
The result was all that mattered, not the attention of the crowd.

And who cares what Solsjkaer looks like, it's not Mr. Universe. If he had a baby face, so what, he was a proven goalscorer. If he didn't deserve to score the winning goal, then the Bayern defence should have been able to stop him.
As for the Satan reference, they are called ''The Red Devils'' so get over it.

To be honest jimbo, after this childish and ridiculous post I have lost a lot of respect for you. I previously held you in high regard as a poster and we agreed on quite a few topics but obviously I misjudged you. I am very disappointed in you to say the least.

Are you happy now.

Oh and I almost forgot.

How can QPR who backed by such wealthy individuals not even push for a play off place.

And George was quite entitled to signal to the bar-man to have the champagne on ice

i see the ABU's are out in force again, united started the final in 98 without the best central midfield pairing in the world (scholes and keane)
terrys slip? what about van der sars slip for the chelsea goal? if terrys was lucky for united then vice versa.
in both seasons they were top scorers had the best defence and i think went unbeaten.
not too mention the 2008 team continued their fine form the next season only losing to a barcelona team which some say are a great side.
surely the fact united got to 2 finals in a row and only lost to this amazing barca side (having set a record for the most games without losing.
also the 2007 season saw united reach the semis only to loose to an excellent milan side (with a defence that was patched up at best, again going back to the luck thing heinze and brown fell over each other for one of the goals) however luck only counts when united win.
as a further case for united team of 07-now being great, they put 7 past roma, beat the inter team who won 4 la liga titles in a row convincingly and are currnently extending the recored of longest unbeatin away run. they have also won three premier leagues in a row (excusing the fact that some people dont think that means much)
above all else you cant call it lucky when it goes for united and ignore it when it goes against them

Which team won a tournament, and were also "best losers" in the same tournament in 1999?

That could be Man City, who finished one place outside the automatic promotion places, then went on to beat the mighty Gillingham in the playoff final, though i suppose that's not a tournament,so i will go for Man Utd instead when they won the Champions league.

Got ya!!!!!!!

And he/she was bound to be from Tyrone.

The "big" trophy syndrome, national leagues, provincial titles, club titles and all the rest, don't count.

Division 3 trophy is not a trophy, or is not a big trophy.

It is, when you are in Division 3.

But you would NEVER get a glory hunter to know that.

I remember 250 at Tyrone Ulster championship games...................

If you are in Division 3 the League cup is a big trophy, as won by QPR and Swindon when they were in Division 3.

It is also a big trophy to many in the skewed premiership, but not to BIG CLUBS.

The unbeatable liverpool team that was banned from playing in Europe after Heysel disaster in 85 probably would've been the best team ever to play in the eropean cup.

I would also think that if you've won sweet F.A for 34 years then it would be MASSIVE.
Anyway, that's enough about Man City as this thread is about great european teams.
