its early in the season yet lads, so no point gettin carried away with brendans spirited display on sunday. havent heard much from red hand defender in relation to the game, he has an opinion on most matters so he must be hiding with his head in shame!

I heard over the weekend from an unreliable source that St Lawrence's have folded and their players are available for transfer to the other Manchester clubs? Is there any truth in this?

For the record St Lawrences have not folded.

You should really check your facts before posting rubbish from a so called "unreliable source" on this site.

Hope this clears that rumour up for you!

No need to get ratty St Lawrence....was only saying what i had heard from my thoroughly unreliable source. I am delighted St Lawrence's haven't folded as it means everyone will get a few more games this season, if indeed St Lawrences bother turning up for any of their games.

Haha I can not believe someone from Brendans is having a go at Lawrences or fielding. just make sure you turn up to all your championship games this year Bitter wee man. I dont think he is gett ratty with you ..... if you heard something from an unreliable source why post it?

Anyway your petty arguments dont matter. It will be another Mitchells clean sweep. You heard it here first!

Mitchels hammerd Isle of man, although looked a gutsy 1st half performance and some descent scores from the islanders. Big talk of the new liverpool club 'wolf tones' flyin about the ground on sat!

Right people, this one is just for a bit of craic. who is the best defender, midfielder and forward in Lanchashire?

I'll go:
-Not sure about this one, defenders wouldn't be that strong in the county. The fella Lynch that use to play for Oisins, now plays for Mitchells(?) or else the fella Brown at full back for Mitchells
-Mulligan - Mitchells (Great player, fielding, scoring, mentality)
-Coss - Oisins (could catch pigeons, a tough one to mark) / Pete Quinn (Lawrences)

heres my contribution for best players:
defender- Ciaran rogers, mitchells- if he gets his fitness right he's a tight marker.
Midfielder- Big fella Joe that plays for St Peters- Not sure of his surname- good fielder and covers alot of ground.
Forward- Cathal Brennan, St.Brendans- he's carrying a bit of extra weight & years but good target man and can get the odd score.

ne thoughts?

this will seem bias but its also realistic:

defender: Colin Phillips (formerly of mitchells)

Mid: Paddy Mulligan (mitchells)

Forward: Daryl Mcconnell (formerly of mitchells)

Defender-Shane Gallagher for Peter's is the classiest defender, not sure if he's the best marker though

Midfielder-No contest, Mulligan is in a league of his own.

Forward-The O'Connor lad for Oisins is a class act

What about naming only players from other clubs?

As an Oisin man I will select three non-oisin players to start....

Def - McElroy (Brendans), great fielding and a tidy footballer
Mid - Mulligan (JM), boundless energy and great technique
Fwd - Doran (Annes), can score from nothing at all

Ok Sparks if you say it then it shall be,

Def - McRory (Oisins),been around a while but on his day he is a solid half back, R Gallagher (Peters) Strong back not the best footballer but can hold his own on the back line, sometimes plays his own game to the detriment of the team.
Mid - Doran (Anns), good fielder of the ball but footballing skills can sometimes be found wanting. But for my money the best midfielder in Manchester.
Fwd - Coss (Oisins), fastest forward in the county, hard to mark can score consistently and very mobile. O'Connor (Oisins) A strong running forward who can take scores. Prone to lose the rag however which can cost the team.

If I was allowed to pick from my own club however here is what my options would look like,

Def - Duddy (Mitchels), a more solid back you won't find. He is pacy, tough plays a nice brand of football and can take scores with ease.
Mid - Mulligan (Mitchels), super midfielder, probably the best in the country. He has everything a midfielder needs and can take scores from anywhere.
Fwd - Coss (Oisins), fastest forward in the county, hard to mark can score consistently and very mobile. O'Connor (Oisins) A strong running forward who can take scores. Prone to lose the rag however which can cost the team.

Doran is a forward, never seen him ever play in midifeld.

Sparks-whats the score with the Junior League A & B on the website?

Anyone got any predictions for this weekends fixtures?

Oisins v CuChulains should be the game of the weekend. Brendans v Bros Pearses should also be close
