Robbie Keane to Celtic

blu, you haven't a clue judging by your last post. Mowbray has got rid of the dead wood who threw away a 7point lead last season and gave Rangers a 7-point headstart this season, not "torn the heart out of the side". Celtic fans had been calling for the players he has sold on to be shown the door for ages. Caldwell has been terrible this season and was gone in the summer for nothing anyway, so why not take £1m for him from Wigan? Ditto Robson, a very limited player who was surplus to requirements with Brown back to fitness. Not sure what games you've been watching this year when you say Robson is better than N'Guemo.

McDonald is a moany little **** who has the first touch of a lamppost, and Rasmussen is the replacement for him, not Samaras (Strachan signing) or anyone else. McManus always gave his best for the club, but was just not good enough - remember Celtic failed to keep a clean sheet away from home for over a year (in the SPL!) with McManus and Caldwell at the back. Hooiveld should solve half the centreback problem, and Thompson has looked good from what I've seen of him. I agree Loovens is a liability, but he's another one of Strachan's signings.

monkey, you are a rubbish wind-up artist and I'm getting tired of responding to you, just look at the squads of the bottom ten sides in the premiership and tell me that they are streets better than Celtic's. If you honestly think they are you are deluded.

ah personal insults, the last refuge of a desperate poster

the current celtic team is not good enough to compete in the premiership, even celtic fans (aside from you) would admit this.

Not getting carried away but I certainly saw enough today to give me hope that better times are around the corner. I like the new Full Back and RA is the kind of forward we have been crying out for. I'm off to Parkhead for the Hearts game and based on what I saw today am travelling with renewed optimism,

bad.monkey said: "Bar McGeady none of the celtic players would start for any preniership team." You are clearly deluding yourself monkey if you actually believe that statement, my pointing this out isn't an insult, it is reality.

corkcelt, I only saw the last 15minutes of the game today and the highlights, but it was certainly encouraging (even if it was against a 1st division team). Always nice to beat Dunfermline after they rolled over for Rangers a few years ago. Glad to hear Braafeid played well, would be great to finally find a leftback... I'd start Rasmussen every single game, he's perfect for the SPL - good in the air, gets in the box and scores goals, whereas our other strikers like to drift around.

At least we provided better entertainment than Rangers yesterday anyway, their game was the most boring 90mins of "football" I've watched for a long, long time. St. Mirren had 10 shots on target to Rangers' 3 as well, their luck will run out sooner or later.

Nocky, do we agree that the real reason last year for loosing a 7 point lead was an inept manager. Look at how he is doing now at Boro. Totally clueless.

I just feel that there aren't enough players there who really care. Too many only after paychecks.

If only we could go back to O'Neill team ethics, every player giving everything in every game.

blu There have been so many changes its bound to take time for things to bed down. In fairness its only from now on that you can say its Mowbray's team. I do very much understand the point you are making and for me the jury is still out on Mowbray. Three or four wins on the trot including Ibrox and we could all be having a very different conversation.

blu, yes, Strachan was the main reason for losing the SPL last year in my opinion - and he was EXTREMELY fortunate to win it the year before as well. Mowbray hasn't had a chance yet, he was saddled with so many poor players left over from Strachan's time at the club. I'm not yet convinced he can manage us to win away games on bumpy pitches in lashing rain against teams who play with 10men behind the ball, but his dealings in the transfer market have been exceptional.

I get what you are saying about "too many foreign players", but what do you think we should do, sign only Scottish and Irish players who "care" about Celtic? That would be a disaster. Don't overestimate "caring" about a club, McManus for example absolutely loves Celtic, but he is still an extremely limited player. Mowbray has assembled a squad of quality players, because of budget constraints he has bought from markets which are not overinflated. But quality players are quality players and when given time to gel the results and performances will improve.

OK lads, maybe we should give him some more time, 4 wins in a row & a big win in Ibrox might change my opinion!

Celtic are the most frustrating team ever! They like to have us pulling our hair out & biting our finger nails.
