Robbie Keane to Celtic

Funny that you should question my literacy fredrick when your own post is full of grammatical errors. In your mind bigotry is worse than racism, in my mind they are equally repellent. I am also astonished that Manchester United do not have any religious bigots as supporters, I would like to know what research you have carried out to substantiate this grand claim.

Listen, we all know there are idiots who go around in Celtic jerseys with éire 32 on the back, but these are not typical Celtic supporters. Some people support Celtic for reasons similar to why others support Man United, Newcastle, Torquay Utd, etc. I'd like you to accept that.

Question: With these improvements to the Defence and Attack, Can Celtic claw back Rangers and win the SPL this season?

it is a good signing for celtic but a huge step down for robbie keane, if he is playing at such a low standard his game can only get worse which is bad for the ireland team. Good business it will probably sell a few more jerseys to the bar stool republicans across ireland

Ever get that feeling of Deja-vu. When Roy joined a few years back Celtic went crashing out of the cup. Now it seems that the league is getting further away from Celtic after the initial joy of signing Robbie Keane. Kilmarnock's first win over Celtic in 9 years, Disaster. Mowbray's luck would soon need to change or it's bye bye.

No matter what impact Keane will have, there's no way Rangers will throw it away now.

Same old same old. Can't score a goal and the opposition score with their only shot.

This was a terrible performance though, worst I've seen this season. Midfield was brutal. Mowbray had better start to turn it around soon. Loovens captain also a worry, the guy is a liability. The only thing I can say in Mowbray's defence in this game is the two injuries at the back forced him to use two subs. Still, not good enough.

Shocking. Abysmal. Horrible. Horrible. Horrible. C'est merde.

Celtic are at their lowest point since John Barnes. And to think 24 hours ago how optimistic all us Celts fans were!!! The league is over kids, 10 points behind and Rangers with nearly 20 goals better goal difference.

Sorry Robbie, you're good but you aint that good.....

Mowbray must go!

As someone who has no love for either of the Old Firm teams I think I can comment without bias. For me the problem is simple. Tony Mowbray has a reputation for playing good football, his WBA team were notable for playing easily the best football out of all the teams in relegation trouble. However they got relegated and unfashionable teams like Stoke, Bolton stayed up. The same problem exists in the SPL. Mowbray wants his Celtic team to play like Barca but that's not possible. He has filled the team with foreigners who aren't prepared to battle when they need to away to Killie on a wet and windy Tuesday night on a pitch that's more mud than grass. Recently Celtic fielded a team without a single Scotsman in it. Compare this to Rangers. Player for player Celtic are much better and much more skillful but Walter Smith has a team that is used to playing in the SPL and who know how to battle for the win. Smith knows the league he's in and knows how to win it, Mowbray doesn't. That's why Rangers will walk the SPL and Celtic will be battling it out with Hibs for second place

That's a very fair assessment Pomeroy. I think the quality of pitches in Scotland and the fact that opposing teams play with 10men behind the ball make it almost impossible to play the kind of football Mowbray wants to play. He needs to figure out a way to win these matches and if he can't then maybe he's not the man for the job. I thought the game yesterday was tailor-made for Rasmussen, the new Danish striker who scored the winner vs. St. Johnston. He is a big, strong striker, very good in the air, who says in the box and scores scrappy goals - exactly what Celtic need. Keane, Fortune and Kamara are all similar players, they aren't the kind that are going to score the scrappy goals Kris Boyd specialises in, they like to use skill and pace and drop deep for the ball. Fortune was bought more to set up goals than score. I'm going to give Mowbray the next few months for his sigings to settle in and to prove that he's figured out how to win SPL games, but I want to see a huge improvement between now and the end of the season.

Nocky do you not think that Mowbray shouild be given one full season with his own players?
He was stuck with what he inherited up until now.
I would give him til the end of the 2010/11 season or certainly at least til xmas 2010

I need to see some real improvement between now and the end of the season Shepherd, some signs that Mowbray has figured out how to win games like the one last night. I'm one of Mowbray's biggest supporters, and love the moves he's made in the transfer window and the style of football he wants to play, but at the end of the day it's about results. Martin O'Neill didn't play beautiful football, he played winning football.

I'd love to see Mowbray back next season and the season after that, but not if he loses every away game 1-0 between now and the summer and finishes 3rd behind Hibs. It's no good having a better team than Rangers on paper when you can't beat Kilmarnock away.

Must say I'm amazed at Pomeroys post, its spot on. Re Mowbrays future, he obviously will see out the season but unless there is a dramatic turnaround in results he should go at that stage. I have not given up entirely on this years league but I do accept that it is highly unlikely that we will overtake Rangers. For this year the Cup now looks like our only chance of success but the way things are you would not be too confident against Dunfermline at the weekend. Tough time to be a Celtic Supporter but we will keep the Faith and keep supporting the team, " For we are Celtic Supporters Faithful through and through"

Opps bad start for robbie keane

Not even having a premiership standard player can help celtic this season. Another league title for the teddy bears, the way celtic are playing at the moment and the state the club is in, the 10 in a row is on for rangers

Lol monkey, you get better and better. Last time I checked Celtic's debt was £1.5m and they made a profit of £2.5m last year. Rangers' debt is £31m and rising fast - they made a loss of something like £11m last year. Not to mention that their owner's other business are fighting to stay afloat with debts of £50m. Lloyd's Bank is running the club, they flogged one of Walter's "untouchables" Pedro Mendes for £1.5m just to pay the interest on their debts.

No player signed in the last 3 transfer windows (unless you count Jerome Rotten, signed on loan, collected a nice wage for six months while sitting at home and has since disappeared to some obscure club nobody has ever heard of in Turkey or somewhere). Rangers can't even afford new contracts for their young "starlets" Fleck and Wilson, never mind first team players like your hero "Boydy". The entire management team working without contracts, barely a tea lady left in the place...
