It's not his fault that he has a monotone voice and he hardly ever smiles. He could be my brother/cousin/friend/or Paddy down the road - I just see him as a normal guy who is world class at tennis. He made a few mistakes in the past, but that was when he was only coming into the game and he probably wasn't getting the right advice from the right people. He has matured now and as a result his game has too. I hope he beats (probably) Federer who lets face it isn't Mr personality of the year himself! sam2008 (Tyrone) - Posts: 799 - 28/01/2010 14:56:27 544930 Link 0 |
Is this Murray the Scot (up to semi-final stage)? watching (Tyrone) - Posts: 853 - 28/01/2010 15:32:00 544991 Link 0 |
I agree with lofty, dont like him and he does melt when the pressure comes on.Hope R-Fed trashes him. What i dont like about Murray is his constant shout of "come owen(pronounced that way)".I understand players letting a shout when theyve turned a coner in a match,or won a vital point, but Murray shouts this the whole time. lyoto.machida (Meath) - Posts: 343 - 28/01/2010 17:27:17 545160 Link 0 |

He's a very good tennis player, but it's fairly hard to support him the way he carries on. Hope Federer or Tsonga batter him in the final. nocky (Wexford) - Posts: 2059 - 28/01/2010 18:47:22 545300 Link 0 |
Nah, over rated. In the US final, the wimbledon semi, and now the Aussie final. Over rated in a game than has RANKINGS. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 28/01/2010 18:47:53 545301 Link 0 |
another prediction? i've ever only given 5 predictions on this forum and 3 were on the champions league final. i predicted who would win, the score, and who would score second- all right. the other two predictions- the one on this thread, and del potro to beat federer in the last french open. no one had ever heard of del potro and everyone wrote him of saying federer would win in straight sets. i was wrong but del potro brought it to 5 sets and broke federer in the last. but its easy to talk in hindsight passerby, eh. cilic thrashed murray in their last hard court major head to head and just knocked out del potro and roddick. he got fatigued which i also said may be his downfall, but of course leave that part out 32_4_1 (Meath) - Posts: 4146 - 28/01/2010 20:07:02 545393 Link 0 |

Federer was brillant today and on that form nobody in the world can really compete maybe bar Nadal as he seems to have something mental over Fed. But as a Murray fan it was frusstrating to watch but you have to appreciate to class of the man, but what few "Wimbledon" tennis experts realise is that with Nadal injured now Murray is probably the closet player to Federer along with Del Potro and although Fed is an exceptional player few fail to notice how good his first service is. It's nearly as effective as Roddicks and the amount of free points he allows himself during a game is huge. Murray needs to work on his first serve average and second serve generally if he wants to beat Federer over 5. But for anyone to come out and criticise him after the display in the 2 weeks will be just out of lack of knowlege and blind hatred of anything that is seen as "British"as their is no shame losing to the greatest of all time. I just don't like him ruanua (Donegal) - Posts: 4966 - 31/01/2010 12:09:53 547260 Link 0 |
Ruanua its fine that you dislike him, that wasnt my point. But its the inability of some to recognise his ability due to their dislike of him. I just think its unfair that some people call him "Overated" and the like when hes clearly not when hes in the top 3 in the world in his field just because they are blinded by their dislike. Murray was sent back to scotland 2day with his tail between his legs. It was like a cat playing with a mouse! Federer truely marvelous. Looks like the kissing of the muscle will be the only thing hel be kissing! Lofty (Monaghan) - Posts: 727 - 31/01/2010 14:08:23 547347 Link 0 |

Statistically Federer is the best player ever. This was his 18th final in the last 19 grand slam events or something, he has won 16, and lost about 6. Five of those have been to Nadal, who at the age of 22 or something had won 6 grand slam events. patrique (Antrim) - Posts: 13709 - 31/01/2010 17:28:21 547485 Link 0 |

I dont like Murray. He has about as much personality as his racquet. Hes moody & childish at times on the court also. sam57 (Louth) - Posts: 1502 - 31/01/2010 18:29:16 547552 Link 0 |
