Harold Bishop, you're hardly comparing the standard of football Keith Higgins plays with Warks senior football, he wouldn't make a junior team over here.

millbrook you do talk some nonsense... did you pay into our game last week against casements or did u sneak in behind the ditch...dont try an pull the fast one we are favourites and that use are down 6 men... did use not sign 6 boys this year and also have a intermediate team to pick so your overall pick for a team on sunday would be around 40 boys in comparison to our 26 boys in total...
with out doubt usewill be favourites but it should be tight game..

Millbrook is right we are down 5 starters as I am sure you will notice tomorrow but i still expect a tight game. After all the talk barnabas surely count themselves as favourties. Remember its quality not quantity that counts but the game could go either way as the game last year was tight affair.

last Sun I was at the mac's V egb game in P.N.H.and paid at the gate I'm sure John will verify, I thought it was only cute hoors from Cork who sneak in without paying.
A couple of the lads travelled up and said Barnabas led for all but the last couple of mins when the goalkeeper misjudged a ball that ended up in the back of the net
gifting Casements the win. Also said you had about 30 players out and 4 or five missing.
We are down these players and add to that I have just come back from the hurling game in Greenford where we were unlucky to loose to table toppers Murphys by 2 points and have a further two players injured.
The reason we did not ask for a free weekend is because the London hurling league fixtures are only made on Monday night and also the fact so many players have holidays booked a refixture might see us wors't off

I have reassessed by opinion and I believe it will be Mitchels by about 8 and not the 116 that I posted yesterday. I didn't realise that they had the hurling on. Are they a hurling club or a football club? What about if they win the hurling, will they be tempted to go on the rip and drink the proverbial head off it?

St.Chads give St.Marys a walk over in the intermediate championship....because they cant field 15 players!
When is the last time a team in any division gave another team a walkover in the championship.

St.Chads, as much as the intermediate division is a disaster, it is way too much of a set up for your club!

County Board, ideas on how you are going to improve the lower leagues next season.....or you just going to stick your head in the sand again...... its just not al about the senior division you know. There are clubs trying to survive outside of that division, promoting the GAA within the local community's...all for what??? to train hard all week and then have there game on the weekend called off... hours before they are meant to play..... Come on....lets start thinking outside senior.

Who ever we have on the day we will put out the best 15 we have no excuses .
You are dreaming if you think Barnabas are not favorites for this one, they have beaten every team in the county by big scores already. and are flying at the moment.
But who knows, look what happened to the favorites yesterday, as I already said I expect it to be a tight game.

millbrook, surely your club knew that if you were to reach the semi-final of the championship you would be playing the fixture this weekend, so you would have informed your players, and maybe they could have booked their holidays around the fixture. Or that not that bothered about winning the county title ?
Personally myself i can see it be a very close game with maybe a draw being the end result.

may have been brought up before but the fixture arrangements are shocking and worse this year than ever before. Someone put forward a fixture template at the start of the year that was great but not used by co board? Into August still 7 games to play in the league have not played in 3 weeks , dont get games unless we chase the fixture sectary , is it any wonder our club struggles to keep lads interested. Not been funny but it says it all when the co board make up results at the end of a season because all in games have not been played. Sooner they get someone whos looking to progress the counties football teams the better as it seems they want to sit at the top table and lord over everyone else. Is it any wonder the lads go back to rugby and soccer

Couldn't agree more with what you have just posted...

But unfortunately anybody associated with the warwickshire county board does not use Hogansatand so all such posts fall on def ears!!

Everyone should be thrown out....TIME FOR CHANGE!!

overthehill1, totally agree with you, its a complete disaster as you say worse this year now than any other year. I think it was millbrook who put the fixture template forward at the start of the year, but not a blind bit of notice taken by the county board.
As regard the underage fixtures dont even go there. Our club has played one u14 game, our u16 also one game, our u18 have had two fixtures and u12 have played a few more not sure of the number. Now someone within the underage committee has decided to give us a full month of underage fixtures for the month of august which we will more than likely not be able to field with most of the players away on holidays.
New members needed on both senior and underage boards.

When I made up the template, I sent it to all club secretaries and chairmen, in hope of getting a response. ( I had one contact from Rugby)
The county secretary mentioned it, solely to dismiss it out of hand at the first meeting of the year, but no club put it forward, or an alternative. (motions or new ideas have to be put forward by clubs not individuals)
Games have gone as you would expect them to and if some club can not come up with a plan to make the leagues more club friendly / competative
junior clubs will disappear.
My suggestion for what it is worth is for county board at their next meeting to set up a sub committee to look into all aspects of leagues/fixtures/grading to propose how we progress from the difficult situation our weaker clubs in (whichever group) are experiencing problems at the moment.
Their findings to be circulated to all clubs, who could then add their own ideas and present to county board for a vote with the intention of formulating a motion for convention that would not be ruled out of order.
There is no point in waiting until the season is over, is then to late, so I say to the clubs that find the current situation a farce ''Do something about it, its in your hands'' instead of being on here make your feelings known in letters /emails to county board, then you might get change.

Was at the game yesterday and thought Barnabas was going to get a real thumping, seemed the occasion had got the betterr of them,
Mitchells kept punishing their stray passes and making the points count. Second half was such a turnaround, it was as if the winning post for Mitchells was in sight but they didn't know how to get to it. Barnabas made up for their mistakes and punished what i thought was a tired Mitchells team, thoughly enjoyed the game, was a great advertisment for football in this County.

Finbars were an absolute disgrace yesterday when they played against Naomh Padraig! How crowley stayed on the pitch is beyond belief! I've never seen a grown bunch of men abuse a referee so much in my life, he didn't have a great game reffing but it wouldn't surprise me if he never returned to ref another match! They should be totally embarrassed about the way they conducted themselves! Fair play they've progressed through to the semi finals of the championship but behaviour like that is totally out of order!

Well by the way he ref'd the game especially near the end it wouldn't be a great loss. I have played football in this county for a very long time and some of his decisions near the end were mind boggling and disgraceful in what was a tight close game which ended level.
Sour grapes comes to mind though fox, I think you were expecting a nice handy walk in the park!
