The league should be well within our reach after yesterdays game.

Sheepsmate, Have you any contact number for your team? I have a cousin who lives in Burton that wont travel to Birmingham to play. He's not a bad player and would prob be interested

Both teams looked very understrength in the Macs v EGB game, fair play to EGB were better all over the park with some young lads looking very promising on both teams.

I wouldn't go writing off Barnabas just yet, i have no doubt they were resting a few against RC.
On the other hand i wouldn't go writing off RC against Macs, they might just spring a suprise although Macs will be heavy favourites.
Does anyone know why there is such a gap between the two Semi Finals?

macs booked that weekend off for a wedding in Ireland on the night the draw was made. All clubs agreed to it.
At convention macs motion for to do away with August as a free month was passed. meaning that the fix sec would fix games during the month of August to avoid playing games in Oct, Nov. The games should not be four weeks apart.

Harold bishop , we will have a contact number for you tomorow , we are getting a club phone as none of the lads want to put thier personal numbers up on this site , intheno i have had a good look through your previous posts and you seem to have friends and cousins everywhere , we are genuine about our plans and just need a bit of help , we could do without you stiring things up between ourselves and our neighbours at St Barnabus. What club are you from ? maybe you would like to come and join us .

Sheepsmate was wondering if the derby team is a serious team or not? been living here for over 2 years now and with the way things are back home can't see me leavin to soon, I been lookin for a team for a while know and considered goin to the barnabas this year after seeing them last season, however couldnt make it to june and they seemed to be on a roll already. but if u boys are serious i would be interested, were n when are u trainin? also i presume jnr football next year i wouldnt be overly keen on that as played a lot back home but if the commitment is there i would give it a go. Also InTheKnow stated some of the barnabas lads trained with u are they interested in joining next season as a few lads with good experience would be useful?

Sheepstake your obviously generating soon interest, what is your catchment area as I understand Barnabas have a wide area which includes Derby, which side of the city would you be based? As I know a lot of Irish lads who work at Toyota.

Im not having a pop directly at your club , im a just stating that things must be bad at your club ( as you have explained ) when you are unable to field.
Are you saying that Mitchel's would not accomadate your request to re arrange the fixture or was it the county board who would not move the game.
I do sympathise with your situation however the football must get played otherwise there will be having games in November/December.
Can you see thing getting any better at fourmasters soon or do you think you will struggle to field through august as well.
On another note its encouraging to see that there might be the possability of a club starting up soon in Derby,im not sure how the barnabs lads will take to it but i cant see it affecting their senior set up just yet

It's all gone quiet on the Derby front, maybe it's a case of being `Silence of the Lambs`

Barnabas by a few I would think. Have come out the tougher side of the draw in the championship, unlucky not to win the group. Mitchels have done nothing of note this year, bar beating an understrength Macs side in the league (which Barnabas also did). Knowing a few of the Nottingham lads, they're well up for this one.

Barnabas will be favorites to progress after coming through what appears to be the strongest side of the draw,
Especially with Mitchells playing Fr Murphys in the London senior hurling league on Sat, add that to the fact we will be missing up to six of the starting side away on hollidays. Its possible Barnabas will be facing the same situation with players on hollidays. So no excuses
We will put out the best side we have on the day which will effect the chances of our Intermediate team. We will give it our best shot and expect it to be a close game.
We have improved on last year and the hurling championship is'nt even started.
We will be trying to make our own record and win four all Britain hurling titles in a row, which is probably top of most peoples mind. I don't think any club that I am aware of has done it.

Barnabas by about one hundred and sixteen points.

Millbrook, Keith Higgins for Mayo regularly puts in brilliant performances for his county's hurlers and footballers on the same weekend. I expect Mitchells to edge it by 4

What I don't understand is why Mitchells didn't opt for that weekend to be free, as they would surely have known about the Hurling final or semi final first!
