Millbrook - with casements on home turf in a championship match you should expect a few lads behind the goal to help resolve any issues of unfair umpire decisions. a mitchells man is less likely to to give a bad decision if there are people looking over his shoulder to dispute it. Regardless of how bad the ref may have been, he needs the umpires and linesmen to help him at times.

also, showers? coventry not having showers is not the issue, nor has it ever been the issue. we are talking about ref decisions, off the ball antics, big teams not stepping up. leave the showers out of it eh? lets not forget, the showers only came into play AFTER the game once the result has been decided on the "tennis court" PNH is a great facility - id drive 20miles for a shower there anyhow.

Michael_Lyster - I think you'd have found Casements would have came out on top had they proceeded, the game was in the balance and Casements have the massive wind behind them. Let's not forget that Mitchells started the bad antics on the field and didn't like it when they were met with the same. Dont get me wrong, I dont like a dirty game, its got no place in football but sometimes you have to stick up for each other.

Midfield was definately the key, the big Mitchells lad won everything and didnt waste the ball, easy lay-off's to the runners. In terms of players, for me they had 3 or 4 good footballers, and the rest were fit. They arent footballers, although their full forward can hit a great ball off the ground from 50yrds easy.

Casements looked unfit and too many people suffering from the night before - You's let yoursleves down.

Well going by what u wrote their silenttone casements werent to well prepared unfit and whatever they did night before game. i still think we would of won we have that bit more experience..its a tough championship to call macs are obvious favourites and we would be their or their abouts but barnabas seem to have come out of nowhere this year after all we beat them in intermediate championship last year and already they are unbeaten in league and beat erin go bragh in erdlington at weekend...think they will get beaten this weekend by macs but they could have a say in the title before the end of year.. its wide open

Macs should have too muc for Barnabus. This is the time of year they start rollling out all the new recruits and big guns. You can't put a price on experience.

Any chance of Four Masters putting in a strong showing on Sunday? Their season so far has been abysmal but maybe they could turn it around?

Did macs give Casements the points in the league last week and if so how does this leave the league table?

My reckoning is that we are still top:

P W L D Pts
EGB 5 4 1 0 8
Barnabas 4 4 0 0 8
Macs 5 2 3 0 4
Casements 4 2 2 0 4
JMs 5 1 4 0 2
FS 4 0 4 0 0

I think this is right but am open to correction.

If casements have been given the points they have won 3 now (mitchels, macs & Masters)

harold bishop; I wouldn't worry too much about the league as it stands. EGB will win absolutely nothing this year, the same as god knows how long. The attitude is wrong and the players are overrated. Can you inform us as to where your manager, Paul Bradley was on Sunday. Also, where was your captain for the year, James Mulcahey? Has there been a bust up in the camp? I would expect Macs to give ya a good beating and then the boys can go back on the beer and prepare for the coming soccer season.

All absent have legit excuses. If it wasnt for wrongly called square balls on Sunday you would not be asking such questions

Have any of the EGB lads got the number for the guy with the bouncy castle ?

harold bishop, each and everytime you have come up against a decent side in league or championship you have been beaten. Ill discipline and a lack of fitness is what has cost you, not a couple of square balls. I would say the same to the Casement lads or any other club. Get your head out from wherever it is and sort it out, don't come on here with excuses .

Additionally it is also quite a shame that those absent couldn't demonstrate sufficient dedication to the EGB cause in ensuring that they are available for important games. Priorities ey...

intheno you have shown good knowledge of football in Warwickshire. Please desist with this onslaught. No is the time to regroup and try to salvage something by beating Macs in two weeks time. All is not lost. I notice Moonshine is very quiet of late.

intheno - your name is a contradiction, where have your team been or won in the last decade??? Do you really think that the manager and captain would duck out of a C'Ship for aviodable reasons. I don't know their excuses and it makes no difference to me.

Who is playing this week then, is it FM v JM and Macs v EGB? Anyone know venues and times?

haroldbishop, it's not an onslaught. You have got my back up. I watched the entirety of that game on sunday. To say square balls are why EGB lost is ridiculous. I am on your side, I think one was a square ball, however EGB were 2nd best on the day, and comfortably at that. Don't make excuses, take it on the chin and aim to improve.

What is your team intheno? I take it you are from Barnabus as you were at the game?

from knowing ciaran biggins he told me the following .....Square ball, an often controversial rule: If, at the moment the ball enters the small square, there is already an attacking player inside the small rectangle, then a free out is awarded. from what i believe on 2 occassion barnabas players chased it in an werent in square also from what i believe if the keeper was at fault for the 2 so therfore cancelling out this squareball opinion on sunday...

Harold think I have said this before. I support no team, love the game and try and watch as many teams as possible. May get involved with some club in the future. I am perhaps the only true neutral on here.
