Thesilentone - or not so silent should we say, lets not start comparing our county select to how the all stars are picked and to take you up on your point if the same kerry, tyrone team won 4 all Irelands on the trot do you not believe that a strong amount of players from the squad would be on the select team?

My point is that guys are coming on here naming 4-5 mitchels, casements, STBs 6-7 EGB and 2-3 Macs now it doesn't take a genius to work out the maths here. If these other teams had so many better players where's their county medals?

Guys.... shoulda wuda cuda....same old talk again now that the county team is up and running.

Every club right down to the junior clubs can argue that they have a player or two who is cable of playing for warwickshire. We can all pick a team and argue that there should be 7 or 8 from our own club on the starting 15 for whatever reasons.... most of which will of course be completely wrong!!!

The county football trails are open to all clubs in the county. The manager's of every club in the county are informed of when the trails will be taking place and asked to provide all the names and contact details of the players they feel capable of playing county football.
Along with that the county manager has been to alot of games this year to view what is on offer also....
So why only 16 turning up for the first round of the All britian???

Surely we have to look firstly at our own clubs and determine why players (allot of which are these so called stars) aren't bothered in representing there county...

County well said, you seem to have a good idea of whats going on behind the scenes how would you propose the county to be run is that it is improved and what would your team/squad be?

Why would you base a team on who has performed well over the past few years? Surely it should be a case of who is performing well currently that should get the nod? And if players cant be bothered going to matches then why are they even being considered?!

i dont think the trial matches are working!!! it didnt work last year... the manager should be getting out to as many matches as possible should be in Páirc na hÉireann most weekends considering the amount of games played there.

most people can name 30 players who would be on the panel, they should be approached and if they have no interest then pick someone else to replace them. Last year a lad turned up to play for his club and found out on the fixture list that he was on the panel the level of communication is poor. Warwickshire have got a good enough selection of payers to compete in the championship, even last year we beat london and took scotland to extra time with a panel that was missing a number of the so called better players.

macsforfive you do like to blow your own trumpet talking about county medals!!!first id like to say is all the other teams in warackshire come championship time play the boys that has been training all year!!!what do use do, all the boys that slog their guts out in jan and feb are forgot about and use have to fly boys in from ireland who havent played with use all year to win the championship!! have you every thought maybe this is the reason use always fail to do anything when use get out of warackshire!!!

Your obviously one of the STB blowins, can you names what players have played in our championship finals over the past four years that havent been involved in our league programme?

Last year we were defeated in the all britain by the eventual winners and we gave them there tighest game of the series, I'd love to see your club playing in the all britain.

Macsforfive - Unless im mistaken Conor o riordan in 2006 - He didn't play a game all year but after he got off the plane he played in the Final replay. Im sure my info is right although I have been wrong before!! In saying that he's still around today so no-one can argue.

macsforfive again im not from barnabus!! im a mitchells man and proud to be it week in week out we play boys that train all year round...the point im trying to make is we might bring in boys from ireland at start of year but they train all year with us where as 2 weeks beofore a championship match use are flying boys in to play, mustnt be good for the boys that play all year!!! as for ur statement getting close to beating scottish champions in all britains...doesnt matter if u were beat by 1 or 10 use were still beat!!!

Macsfor50, A.Walsh never played league but was given a starting berth in Champ if i remember rightly. I'm sure I have a teamsheet/programme somewhere with his name on . That is one that i definately recall. I wasn't watching games till 2008 so can't comment before that.

Macs would never get away with flying players in for the Warwickshire championship, may have happened years ago but they would never get away with ringers now, teams are too familiar with each other. A different story in the Provincial championship though where teams are unfamiliar and the identity of a player is known only on a team sheet.

Micheal_Lyster, you should think about what you say before you starting posting on here, aren`t JM the club last year who played a lad from Monaghon under a different name in a few games last year, whilst his club was also flying him back home for games `FACT`. Or has that slipped your memory ???

lethal, what allegation are you on about ????
What is the problem with having new lads sign for us ??? Does it matter when they come over ??? Weahter it bit the start of the year or middle of the year, what do you say to them ?? Dont bother coming lads the season has started, i dont think so.
No response from Micheal_Lyster as regards this monaghon skin that played for JM last year.

Moonshine saying you know so much FACTS you should name the player an his home club...in doing so you will realise we did nothing wrong as he was playing two different codes..everybody on here knows who the main culprits of this is an that's macs

Micheal_Lyster, if you say you have done nothing wrong, then why did you play the lad under a different name than the name he plays for with his club back home.
Just one more question, how come no transfer was ever put through for this lad ????

Well done to Macs winning the provincial under 12 7s tournament and then their ladies winning the Warwickshire County title with a great performance today. Perhaps what was just as good was the level of support at both events load of people coming on here to slate them but at least them seem to run like a GAA club not just merely turning out for their mens senior team as happens with some others. Any word on how the senior county team got on?
