Under the rules of Control for GAA matches, the referee can terminate a game for any serious reason he sees fit. He will have plenty of work to do with his match report but I guess most good refs will do it. I wasnt at the game so whether he got it right I dont know, but as an Uachtaran said, there are 7 appointed officials at the match, 3 of them qualified referees, so they should have a fair idea how serious the violence is and who should be punished most. I agree with Lyota.machida that it is not easy to get all the culprits or also judge who is more guilty or less innocent. Someone is going to be punished, send them off, give the captains a warning that the game will be terminated, if it starts up again give more cards and end it... To be honest I dont see the problem. Getting knocked out is easy done but when I go out to play, its not South Central...LA.
