I like Rooney, class player, but not best in the world. And I never thought I'd see the Day that Manchester Utd's best player would be a Scouser either.

The BEST player in the premiership by a country mile is Robinho

Would the best player not be the player who plays better than all the other players? Because surely even you cannot put up an argument for that patrique? Most talented, maybe,

I will settle for that.

thank you Jon, pleasure doing business, as always.

When they sell Rooney and Fergie gets rid of Vidic and Giggs, scholes and Rio hang up the boots
Then the best player will still be a scouser

Patrique: his talent can't be argued with (Pele himself picked him out as the next Pele) however he is a terrible professional, untold potential yet he so blatantly refuses to put in any effort, even under a new manager with a club now pushing for European football, with the money he's on it is a disgrace. Let me pick a team in the morning and I would have reliability first, Anelka, Rooney, Tevez etc.. Potential is nothing without the drive to realise it. Something which, sadly for Premier League fans (and perhaps thankfully for the top 4 teams) Robinho seems to lack..

He does indeed seem to lack motivation, and I suppose I would if i was getting £160,000 a week. Money like that could make a person blasé.

However, nice to see you mention anelka as I have argued for years that he was a serious talent. Alas aged 18 he was labelled as "moody" which was a nonsense in a very short time.

It was during his time at City I realised how good he was, playing with crap players in a crap team and scoring something like 26 goals while leading the line as well.

nice to see him belatedly get the recognition he deserves.

Just watched his display against hull should of had 6 maybe 7 goals ,very strong and powerful player and always busts a gut to get up with play , He is also the only player that comes out onto the field of play clean shaven and by full time he has a lumberjack style beard grown.

Lads if he had followed his Irish links and joined the boys in green instead of putting on the 3 lions i bet you all would be saying without doubt the best in the world?

Rooney will be the star of the show in South Africa, you heard it here first. The year of the Roo 2010. If only he choose the boys in green.

'Rooney best player in the world' Lol. Only a tunnel visioned Manc would think that! Do you honestly think he is better than Messi?

At least I feel a bit better.

I have argued for three years and more that Rooney was Man United's best player, never mind the world.

Everyone disagreed.

Now I feel justified.

You wouldn't have got an argument here Pat, the kid is class. He was slightly over shadowed by Ronaldo, but Fergie was the problem there. He almost became the water carrier, which he did very well. But now at last we get to see Rooney at his best in the middle like a magnet to the ball.

Its going to be close tomorrow i'm going for an extra time win for United 3-1 but i'm not overly confident what do you think?

What do I think? About what?

Oh, the league cup for small teams, forgot about that.

I think if United are worried about City's reserve side well, as Bob Dylan sang, "The Times they are a Changin'".

Still United need the money. Maybe City won't even turn up, just send a cheque.

isn't that what the rich do at these benefit things?

------------

another well structured argument dell. i think you will find that by both popular opinion and by being awarded the World Player of the Year Messi is the best player in the world in the minute.

Now Joan, Dell has 9474 posts.

Some 8,000 of those are to say that Christiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world.

So he is winding again.

Or, he could be Wayne Rooney.

I think it's great that Man City finally have bigger ambitions than being happy to take some points off United.

Its going to be close tomorrow i'm going for an extra time win for United 3-1 Well Pat, seeing as your not around today for some strange reason????? I'll highlight the fact that i got the score right. The legend and future 2010 World player of the year dose it again. How does he do it. This time its the richest club in the world, there is just no stopping him. I was very upset with Mr Bellamy though, i offered him a drink during the game and he blanked it. That man just has no manners, wasn't brought up by good Irish parents you see. I left it at the side of the pitch, it cost me £3.10 very rude, i was not amused. Well you will be glad to know Old Trafford was in good humour last night, just another day at the office my friend yes just another day at the office. I'll have to book that same hotel again down in London for the 28th Feb the staff are so lovely down there, were just like family really of course. Well you know as it has become an annual event and all. The red carpet just stays there these days. Hope to here from you soon and dry your eyes, MancIrish
