Wayne Rooney

Rooney scores 4 today and is on fire at the moment. that's 20 this season already and we are only half way. Got to be the best player in the premiership at the moment. The question is, is he the best in the world, judging by Ronaldo i think he thinks he is, as he begs him to join him at Madrid. Who do you think made him look so good at Old T??? Yes the great man himself!!!! Rooney for world player of the year 2010, its got to be. £100 million wouldn't be enough to buy him.

Xavi, Iniesta and Messi are better, Ronaldo and Kaka are just as good if not better not to mention Drogba, Torres and Fabregas. Don't get me wrong Rooney is an unreal player but to say he is the best player in the world cos he scored 4 against Hull is a bit much

As I said elsewhere he missed 4 when one on one with Given the other night, but that was as much tongue in cheek as your post here.

I have always argued that back in Euro 2004 United had a young player ready to become a world great, and his name was not Ronaldo.

Have a look at that tournament and see who was shaping to be the star until he got injured. Correct, Wayne Rooney.

For a few years Fergus made him work hard to indulge Ronaldo, but has now given him his head again and Rooney is showing how good he is.

At the moment, second only to the truly great TEVEZ.

lads these 4 goals are just a continuation of his brilliant carreer. the best think u can say about him is that he has improved every year and has got more goals every season than the last. IMO he's in the top 5 top players in the world with Ronaldo, Fabregas, Xavi and Drogba at the moment. Iniesta and Torres wouldnt be far away either. Messi is massively overrated. good player but not a shadow of a player ronaldo is.. anyone who isnt blinded by bias will realise this

Hes carrying united at the moment, I can't see him staying at the club next season (Barca) going to come knocking and the Glazers will sell then Sir Alex will retire and those at FC United will say they told you so! Love United! Hate Glazer

If your club could buy any player in the World i would wager the majority would opt for Rooney. He has the whole package. I bet you would swap Tevez for him Pat?

I believe Fergie is going to play him in net on Wednesday just to show your lot he can do it were ever you play him.

Rooney is certainly on fire at the moment
I'm sure that this hasn't gone unnoticed by the shareholders
On his present form he is probably worth say £70m which is enough to cover the interest on the recent bond issue until at least summer 2011. Certainly worth considering becasue the Ronaldo proceeds will soon have dried up.

Though with Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney out of the picture Glazers will worry about the value of the direct golden Global TV rights - if and when this comes about. What asset will they have to entice the potential 300 million worldwide premiership pay per view fans. Once Fergie goes any chance of a return of Posh and Becks ?

That was called humour.

The BEST player in the premiership by a country mile is Robinho.

Everyone knows that so I assumed you would know I was joking about Tevez.

he is the 2nd best.

Would the best player not be the player who plays better than all the other players? Because surely even you cannot put up an argument for that patrique? Most talented, maybe, but never the best.

Personally i think Rooney is hugely over rated. Fabregas on the other hand is fantastic.
