Well done Jordie,

The "Jordie" was a nick name I got at school in 1964, my spelling.

I always assumed it had something to do with my prowess at soccer..............

Hello Peter.

As I always said Peter, you will never be as good as a hurler as me.

And I know you are a teacher, let us all hope it is not English you teach.

Your girlfriend talks to you about "small man syndrome" and you reveal that on a website?

I am truly dumbfounded!!!!!!

Canice also won a Hogan Cup medal that year, and a few All Ireland B inter county all Ireland's with Antrim.

He also hurled for Ulster, a seriously good player.

'O'Neill was still playing for St Malachy's college that year, and the McRory Cup semi was highly controversial because of it. John McKiernan caught every ball that day and the O'Neill story became irrelevant.'

Just found this self deprecating thread Patrique!!

Big McKiernan caught every ball every day he played if my memory serves me right when he played for st.teresas alongside sean mcgoldrick, father of the current derry players!
3 or 4 st.teresas players in that picture, dunno how army(tommy) ended up playing for n.ireland he couldnt hit a barn door!!

quick question is that tommy breslin(cliftonville player) as well at the end of the middle row??

It is indeed "Dink" Breslin. I never knew he played for Cliftonville.

He played for St Teresas, as did Paul Growcott, two McKiernan's, Gerry McHugh (deserted to the Johnnies later) and on the football Conor Smith was also with St Teresa's and Kevin Boylan.

St Teresa's won the minor football in 1968/69/70 and my club, Gael Uladh, won the hurling.

Because it was there.

Actually because we now live in Antrim. I wanted him to go to Antrim Grammar, girls and all at that school, but.........

And I actually taught at St Malachy's during my chequered career.
