Any fool can win an All Ireland!!!

It is with heavy heart and foreboding that I am reduced to this, but if it needs doing............ AND SO, HEY PRESTO............... http://www.stmaryscbgs.com/news/view_news_article.asp?id=1981 Reproduced from another thread: http://www.hoganstand.com/Forum/MessagePage.aspx?TopicID=40946 Dellboypolecat County: Tyrone Posts: 8712 Do not mind him he never won no medals with any college or county that is why you cant find him and these dates he give he changed his story a few times. If you follow that thread you will note the part as follows: 05/01/2010 01:02:38 patrique County: Antrim Posts: 6731 524612 omaghredhand County: Tyrone Posts: 1044 524547 I'm still sceptical about these college medals Patrique. Nowhere are you mentioned in the St Marys CBGS website in any of the team photos. Take away your worthless Ulster Hurling championship medals, Antrim have not much to shout about. The photos featured on the St Mary's website were provided by ME. I also provided most of the names for the 1960s hurling team featured. Please note that the 1971 hurling team is not there although I sent it to Kevin Burke, former head. Jim Sheerin from my year is now the boss, maybe I will ask him to put it up.. (hold on to I check "My Photos" on this computer) yes, that's me, back row, extreme left with the hurler's. Now, the "proof" above merely proves what I have said all along, that any fool can win medals, and loads and loads of brilliant players never won anything. Now only 40 (FORTY) people in the province of Ulster won these medals so unless Dell is saying I am one of the 40 best ever college players from Ulster could he and others please desist in posting about what people won. Packy McGarty, Gerry O'Malley, and many, many GREATS won very little. Some not so great players have won 3 or 4 all Ireland medals. The right time, the right place and all that. No need to apologise either Dell, sure I am really from Mayo, as you know. And please, no slegging from the rest of you. I already know how useless I was. But lucky.

1; That is the real P.O'Neill.

2: We also won the Hogan that year with McKiernan's, gerry McHugh, "Bap" Armstrong (son of Kevin) and Frank Toman of Armagh.

3: The hair styles are something else, especially "Dink" on the extreme right in the middle row.

4: I suppose Dell must be at work tonight.

Pat, I worked with Paul McKiernan a while ago. He's a good lad & had some great stories about the players he played with. He played with Gerry Armstrong for Antrim Minors, & against Martin O'Neil who played for Derry's Minors.

He also played in New York with Frank McGuigan & Larry Tompkins. He reconed that NY team could have held its own in Ireland but wasn't allowed to compete at the time.

O'Neill was still playing for St Malachy's college that year, and the McRory Cup semi was highly controversial because of it. John McKiernan caught every ball that day and the O'Neill story became irrelevant.

Gerry Armstrong and Tommy Armstrong (who also played for N.Ireland) were both on the Antrim Vocational schools sides that year. Antrim won the hurling beating North Tipp, and lost the football final to Mayo.

Despite this complete dominance at schools level antrim managed to lose in the first round of the Ulster minor championship.#

Only in Antrim.

Sean Sands who played hurling and football for Down, and hurled for Derry is also there.

Bitter?

No fred, I was always practical. I wasn't to know then that it would be another 22 years before United would next win a league!!!

I'd say you knew full well about Citys great famine though.

What famine? 18 months since winning the most important trophy in English football? That is hardly a famine.

Unless you rate the "Community Impact" trophy higher? City win that every year.

Very succinct my friend, proving I cannot possibly be from the beautiful Mayo.

and who turned this into a man United thread? breffni, no doubt.

there are better players in that photo than United EVER had.
