What happened Cootehill? Could they not field a team?
Good win for Lavey and also for Denn and Blackwater Gaels as alot of people reckoned Ballinagh would be hard bet!

It has been decided to run both the Minor and U16 championship on a knock-out basis it was also decided that the shield will no longer be run in conjunction with the teams finishing in the bottom 4 of the Minor or U16 league but will used as part of the championship. Teams beaten in the first round of the championship will instead compete in a shield competition , if there is need for a preliminary round the loser will also form part of the shield . This guarantees all teams at least 2 matches in the championship and half the clubs are guaranteed 3 . All the other proposals were looked at but with the fixture plan already in place they were deemed unfeasible as we were given a very tight window to complete these competitions but early proposals will be considered next year.

Minor league div 1.
Ballyhaise v St .Joes Away win ballyhaise still missing a few players St Joes to get their first win.
Redbridge v Gowna/Mullahoran .Away win again although redbridge were missing a couple of players last time out gowna should be too strong
Lavey v Ramor. Home win .Lavey had a great win against a fancied st Joes last time out while Ramor surprised by getting a draw against Bailieboro.
Bailieborough v Cavan Gaels .Away win .Cavan Gaels always come good at minor and always add good players to thier panel between u16 to minor and usualy the cream of the crop from thier neighbours while every other club usually loose players.Bailieborough (who won U16 league and championship)2 years ago and last years Minor Championship (Killian Gaels)will find it tough against the running power of the gaels.

Heard the ballyhaise v st joes game is off due to weather.Seen st joes last week and they were beaten by lavey who played well and deserved to win. However st joes discipline has improved so i wouldnt rule them out of league yet.Probably not as talented individually but definitely work hard and their manager was taking no rubbish from them which should help. Lavey the team to beat though

Well badger if joes scored the penalty and the 3 or 4 frees that they missed then they would have deserved to win. i think you answered your own question

Cant understand why at least 3 of the minor league games in div 1 didnt go ahead last sunday. Some clubs with home advantage called off games,is this not the refs job.Clubs were told at start of year if pitch not playable they play on away teams pitch, why was this not applied. Some clubs were going to be missing players so call it off.The County Board need to wake up ,next thing the Ulster league will be started, senior league, and rearranged minor league games and u16 games all in same week.County Board need to get tough on this and if a club says there pitch is not playable go to away teams pitch and get the game played.

Killygarry were hopeless against cuchullains. I'd be surprised if they win a game. McInnerney and Morgan were good and Breen Reilly scored a few nice frees but the other lads were annonomous. Lavey won and were very good against ballyhaise. A strong team with savage determination and lots of spirit. Gavin Lynch and Chris Conroy were very good. Laragh and Lacken was postponed.
