Anybody have a full list of transfers? I heard on LMFM that Clint Sweeney & Niall Sharkey had their transfers granted but Robbie Callaghan was refused. Callaghans is strange because hes lived in Ardee all his life in close proximity to St Marys field. Also Stabannon didn't seem to have major objections to the move. sam57 (Louth) - Posts: 1502 - 19/01/2010 11:44:30 536819 Link 0 |

Have to say the situation with callaghans transfer to the marys is a joke. While i usually wouldnt be in favour of lads leaving weaker clubs for stronger ones, if he lives within sight of the ardee pitch (& i think his brother also is with the marys??), its taking the proverbial refusing it! very hard on a player being put out of football but marys were very spiteful towards niall sharkey last year who missed 2 years of football and should have got his transfer and maybe this is why there case went against them pd73 (Louth) - Posts: 322 - 19/01/2010 17:07:03 537309 Link 0 |

why are their so many transfers within the county? this is unreal..especially that Louth is not a big county geographically...is it a case of mercenery players, clubs throwing money at players to transfer? or does this go on every season? I find this quite strange and never heard of as many transfers within a county (apart from Dublin).........is this the norm??? maroonboy (Westmeath) - Posts: 36 - 19/01/2010 21:29:08 537602 Link 0 |

Trevor Hillard transfered from the brides and knockbridge HC to inniskeen were he is now living. Best of luck to him he will be sorly missed on both fronts. manwitaplan (Louth) - Posts: 28 - 20/01/2010 14:22:19 538024 Link 0 |
Does anyone know who are on the transfer commitee. Niall Sharkey & Clint Sweeney both out of football for a year and then they give them a transfer. What was the point in doing that as both the Marys and Westerns( and even the dogs on the street) knew that both men would not play for them last year. fullmonty (Louth) - Posts: 22 - 20/01/2010 16:51:24 538236 Link 0 |
tervor hillards transfer seems odd - its only 10 miles or so from knockbridge to inniskeen ...was there another reason?? Man in a ditch (Louth) - Posts: 321 - 20/01/2010 17:16:03 538277 Link 0 |
How can the county board sanction the transfers of Dean Byrne and Ben Rogan to the O'Raghallaighs? The O'Raghallaighs under age structure is one of the worst in the County with very few players coming through. As far as I'm aware they will not have a minor team this year, so what do they do? They go and take young players from other clubs. It's an absolute disgrace that Clubs can spend years of time and resources coaching players and then as soon as they are out of minor they head off to the O'Raghalliaghs. The County Board should have laid down a marker that this type of behaviour is not acceptable, maybe then the O'Raghallaighs might put some under age structures in place. inbetweener (USA) - Posts: 7 - 21/01/2010 12:22:11 538788 Link 0 |
Couldn't agree more with Inbetweener. O'Raghallaigh's seem to have a lot of influence and can get anyone transferred to them. Look at the amount of transfers in they have received over the last few years. footballman (Louth) - Posts: 126 - 21/01/2010 13:07:21 538858 Link 0 |
