Downings haven't won the league yet, They still have to play the league final. Still don't agree with this format...If you finish top of the league you should be league champions. Top two should go up and bottom two go down. We should scrap this promotion - relegation playoff structure and the league final!!

Agreed Tír Chonaill Abu.

Quite simply, Downings have been the best team in the division as their points total shows. There should be no ifs or buts. The best team finished top and deserve to be called league champions. End of.

The race for second place is hotting up. 4 teams locked on 22 points with Burt looking to close the gap with their games in hand. This is something I'd like to raise a point about. Granted Burt still have to go out and win their games in hand and that's easier said than done as they found out to their cost at the weekend losing at home to a deserving Naomh Ultan. But at this stage of the year Burt could find themselves playing their games in hand against teams with little to play for. Indeed fielding a team might even be an issue. I know the Burt lads are big into the hurling and that but are they getting a competitive advantage by playing these games now and possibly picking up handy points? Points that would have been harder earned if the games had been played during July/August?

I think it was changed lads, I think the top team go up as Champions now!I agree that this is a much better structure!I think that third and second spot play off for the second promotion spot!!I could be wrong but I heard this earlier in the year. anyone else hear that?

Chemel, i think you are correct there, The rule was changed approx a year ago and this is first year to implement it. Whoever finishes top of league, wins the league, 2nd and 3rd playoff for promotion. Congrats to Downings, good work put in there over last 2-3 years. Is their much of a chance of play-offs for 2nd and 3rd, something like 5 teams on 22 points. Could get confusing!!!

RE ryanvalley.. Your reverse psychology nearly has people fooled.. Naomh Colmcille think this is their year.. They have 22 points and a game in hand.. I think it would be disastrous for them if they went up as they dont have the structures in place to push on

The Fixtures board are at it again!! I see they have Newtown to play RE at 6 on sunday evening in the reserve league. Imagine the excitement in Newtown if the win the county final at 3pm yet they expect fella's to leave all the celebrations to head to play a reserve game at 6pm. You just have to laugh at the people who come up with this sort of thing!!

If Muff avoid giving away silly frees they'll win it by 4-5 points.

If OHagan only gets the frees he deserves and not all the handy ones then Muff will win. If its the other way around a N.C win.

Muff may not be fit enough to beat N.C. N.C are fitter than Muff. Personal opinion.

Damien Diver will roll back the years and edge victory to Muff. Declan McLaughlin, Mark Duffy and Aidan Lynch are all quality forwards. There's no comparison between them and Ryan McErlean, Ciaran Callaghan and McKinleys brother in my opinion.

Both teams have weak full back lines so it will be interesting.
