Lads like Dan St Ledger, Shane Redmond, Cormac Mullins, Mark Davis, Alan Callinan, Dennis Murphy, Sean Gannon, Daragh Foley and Bill O'Connor. Most of them were on the minors of 07 who thrust themselves into an All-Ireland last 8. A long time since Micklow reached a Leinster Minor Final and an even longer time since you won a Leinster Senior (ie. never!) so relax there will ya? We have fine older players too like Mark Carpenter, John Hayden, Simon Rea, John Murphy, JJ Smith and Kieran Nolan. I think if you had 15 good players Micko wouldn't be so determined to get Walshe on board. It shows what he thinks of your own native players that he seeks a Carlow man to play midfield for Micklow. Carlow have an excellent local manager in Luke Dempsey, who knows our scene inside out and he is building a young team which will press a few years hence. The start of that challenge will be beating out lot out of the gate of Wexford Park this summer ;)

My Carlow friend them players are all good but you have to admit we have much more quality player with Glynn,Furlong,Stafford and etc.. Even if Thomas Walshe doesn play for us this season Mickey English is back and he has lots off quality and would be well able for any midfielder in the Carlow anyway

Glad to see the silly season with the Carlow 'Lunatic Fringe' is starting early this year! I can't wait to start reading all the ' I have it on good authority...... My friend's dog says.........' speculation from folk down there regarding what Thomas Walsh will be doing this summer.

Personally I don't care what he does- as I said last year I'm far more concerned with having James Stafford fit and ready. As for Carlow's Brendan Murphy- I've no doubt he's a good player but any team/supporters who are expecting one player to win them games are setting themselves up for a big fall.

Stanley, I don't really care what Thomas Walshe does. At this stage he's been gone for two years and is yesterday's man. However, I have merely been pointing out that he can't play for Wicklow this year. There is, once again, no way the Leinster Council will let him transfer back to Wicklow again. His transfer back to Fenagh and Carlow in the summer shows he's living in Carlow so it won't fly.

Also, to be honest, he's never been as good since he left Carlow. Whether that's cause his heart is not in it with Wicklow or because he is just gone downhill I don't know.

Luke Dempsey is from Ballinabranna in Carlow so, yes, he is a local manager. He lives in Westmeath because he works there and has settled there but he's from Carlow. That's like saying Micko is a Kildare man because he lives in Kildare. He's not, he's a Kerry-man.
Or in his case, he's a Laois-man, Kildare-man, Wicklow-man and Kerry-man.

The man has dragged ye thru the mire and psychologically he has done ye untold damage. Whatever row he had with board he had no reason to treat ye like he has for the last three years. Iknow that if a Wicklowman had done a similar act I would never forgive him let alone be so sanguine about it as you seem to be.Hear things not going too well for Dempsey over there and to tell you the truth im not surprised.
