I don't consider Louth to be big rivals of Meath, ive never seen them beat us anyway, ive seen us beat them loads of times and they don't like it but sure that doesn't make us big rivals.

OLLIE I don't think he's talking about meaningless challenge matches.

Sligo v Mayo is the BIGGEST rivalry in the history of the GAA, no other comes close! Poor Mayo won't know what hit them this year when we bate them out the gate!!!

32_4_1 your right that game was hilarious, listening to them celebrating behind the goals before it was over. But they beat us in challenge match so at least they think there even...bless.

There is nothing bigger than Meath and Dublin in my opinion. I do see Louth as big rivals but maybe thats only because im from east meath on the border with louth. Im not sure if people in south meath see louth as rivals but im sure they would if louth provided a good challenge in championship games.

There is no one rivalry bigger or better than the other, it all depends where you are from. I do not understand or fully realize what a Leitrim v Roscommon derby means to a person from those places, ditto Tyrone v Derry, Armagh v Down etc

To me it is Cork v Tipp that holds the most attraction, especially in Thurles, in the square, Munster championship day, the banter, the pints...nothing beats it boy..the record is pretty even, both counties have won approximately half the battles (Cork have not won one for a few years now), and they are always battles, always sporting too, a few schmozzles but nothing serious..

cork hurlers are a long way from being a top team so should not be considered in a top rivalry...

Ollie, not trying to be funny with you here, but you cant really take much from winning a game that meant nothing on a frozen pitch only 3 days into the year!
As a statistic in years to come I think it will get lost among some of the more meaningfull fixtures!

Historically Tyrone v Derry, but in recent times Tyrone v Armagh/Dublin/Kerry.

I 4 one have never mentioned a thing about putting Louth in their place Ollie! As soon as one Meath poster says anything derodatory about Louth then ye get all defencive & attack us all! There Louth posters who do the same towards Meath too ya know! Just look at the thread in the Meath Kildare game in 97. A Louth poster says they were 2 bad teams. So dont just judge a whole county on one or two posts!

in all fairness jinxs there is more meath fans leaving comments on the louth page then louth fans on the meath page.

Swings & roundabouts Ollie. Give it a few weeks & it'll be the other way. Do you not remember a certain muppet coming onto the Meath page last year after ye won the O'Byrne cup saying that it would be a geat oppertunity to "put one over Meath This year" & how it would "put them in their place"!

So theres no point in picking up on every little comment from the odd meath poster & then turning a blind eye to yer own!
