I personally feel that james balmer from the st josephs ballycran club is one of the countys top young defenders. His resolute defending and ability to drive his team forward is exemplary and with hard work he could be a candidate for the senior county captaincy in years to come. there is no doubt james will be a county representative in years to come and i wish him all the best for his future hurling career. Do others share my views on the young 'never say die' defender ?

i could not agree with you any more "dhuibh". he is the kind of player that any minor team in the country needs!!! i notice that bredagh and carryduff arent really getting many mentions and i would like to know why because there is several young talented bredagh and carryduff boys who could and should make the county minor panel this year!!!

Bah! Eoin Conway from carryduff is without a doubt the most up and coming young talent of the land. He can stike a ball and his overall presence on the field is essential for any team. Not even the best defenders in the county like danny hughes or eoghan fitz will be able to hold off this man for more than 37 minutes. Eoin has too much speed, too much endeavour, too much commitment and too much skill to be stopped by anyone. He can single hamdedly lead carryduff to theit firstr ever minor championship and who knows- maybe even ulster!

Bah, if eoin conway and danny hughes were on the same team this team would be unstopable. they would win the ulster championship without a doubt! Eoin has superb accurate and deadly point taking and goal getting ability and danny hughes can thwar many an attacker! Bah

This annoys me, if your going to post a message be serious, eoin conway is unkown, danny hughes is not the best defender in the county in my opinion

You are sadly mistaken Galgetsown. Eoin Conway IS carryduff, he embodifies the true meaning of the club and the sport itself. How can you make absurd claims that this man is unknown? Danny Hughes is without a doubt the best defender in the county, maybe even ulster. He comes from a family with a huge tradition and heritage in the sport and does not disappoint on the field. Without a doubt these 2 boys are exemplary examples to be followed by any young players of the sport! Bah

i agree, eoin conway- a man with a mission. Has the speed, strenght, heart and skill to beat everyone, except perhaps cran lad danny hughes. Danny marking eoin in the minors will be a close contest this year.

i dont know where these people are getting the information about Eoin Conway and Danny Hughes. by the way, Eoin Conway? Who is that? well what i want to say is Eoin Conway is unknown by mostly everybody, and Danny Hughes, no co-ordination, overall i give both players a 1 (10 being highest, and 1 being very below average

Danny toner by a mile and when you look at how he works at his game and the training he does on his own he'll be a real addition to us this year providing referees are on top of the holding and constant fouling of opposing defenders !
Danny has really worked hard the last year at his core and there isn't another minor hurling in the county who has done the same. 2010 will be galgets and Danny's year.
