With only Kilmovee and Gaels junior in East Mayo its ulikely they could make a senior team to compete in championship mayomaniac (Mayo) - Posts: 14 - 06/01/2010 23:03:07 526423 Link 0 |

wat 2 rafters aer you on about dat play 4 ardnaree just curious? jack182 (Mayo) - Posts: 26 - 07/01/2010 12:21:26 526673 Link 0 |
North mayo team would not be good enough to even compete strongly for the intermediate crown. Few Players from Ardnareee are good but as for Kilfian, Ballycastle, Ardagh, Moygownagh, Lacken etc.. HA HA HA HA. Try to be realistic. East & South Mayo would also struggle badly, even in intermediate, if they combined together. West Mayo have a strong pool of players to choose from so they should be well equipped to compete in senior Cship SUL09 (Mayo) - Posts: 18 - 07/01/2010 16:18:53 526962 Link 0 |

are u havin a laugh,3 ardnaree players...the same amount as kifian and only half as many as lahardane...dat is a joke of a team!! jack182 (Mayo) - Posts: 26 - 09/01/2010 18:49:50 528987 Link 0 |
2 teams should be picked with maybe ardnaree ardmoy and lacken forming 1, with ballycastle kilfian lahardane forming the other. play twice with different players and let the manager choose his players from this. u would be surprised at the lesser known players who would excel and so called better players who wouldnt be comfortable wih other club players, but the prtoblem b4 was apart from belmullet no other club really got behind the concept and u would have to wonder would ardnaree get invovled after what was done to them last time the north team existed numbnuts (Mayo) - Posts: 31 - 10/01/2010 21:38:37 529627 Link 0 |

ballycastle and ardnaree were in a relegation dogfight in division 3 of the leagye with ballycastle ahead by a point. north mayo had an important game and both clubs agreed to postpone their final game which happened to be between them. back then agame postponed had to be played within 30 days or both teams lost the points, so guess what ballycastle did ,ya you have it they used every excuse under the sun not to play the game until the 30 days were over. ardnaree there for were relegated and ballycastle survived numbnuts (Mayo) - Posts: 31 - 11/01/2010 16:37:53 530026 Link 0 |
i think the idea proposed for management to get a look at all available players is a good idea and should be looked into further. Although there may be history with the old nrht mayo team that is a good few years ago and alot of newer younger exciting players on the scene. It is very important that this doesn't turn into a spiteful exercise between the junior clubs but rather that the best players come together and finally prove that they are as good as the senior players (well at least intermediate). Every junior club has them couple of players from underage who it was said about them "If they were at a senior club...". This is the chance to prove it. All of the the mentioned clubs previously have at least 1 county player (at a minimum) from underage or alot of the players would have gone far with the secondary schools through the vocational schools competition where they were every bit as good if not better in some cases than those who now contest the latter stages of the senior championship. I agree standards in training are very different between these players now but if all junior clubs got behind this event and all see how far they can go then who knows...... It is obviously a great idea. there is some great talent in junior teams throughout the county. It would be up to the North Board to appoint the management team. Herein lies a problem. I feel it has got to be a syndicate from outside of north mayo who has very few connections with clubs in the region. This makes for a level playing field. it would be up these individuals to scout out the required talent during the early stages of the county league in accordance with some trial games between a sellection of these players. overview (Mayo) - Posts: 88 - 11/01/2010 19:09:10 530294 Link 0 |
