I think Meath should change theirs to an Oak Leaf or an acorn or something!

Seems to bring success to other counties who have used it in the past.

Most counties only created new ones 4 or 5 years ago to copyright them for merchandise.

The Louth situation seems a bit strange, I assumed atleast half the bridge would be in the county.

Wouldnt mind taking the Sheep's head off our crest. I know il prob get smart comments about this. It doesnt mean anything to me and theres much more sheep in other counties than in ours so id prefer to replace it with something else.

I would change the Crest for Derry, Not the GAA one, The one with the UGLY skeleton on a rock with a castle behind and the Flag of Ulster/England at the top. I hate seeing that it is as ugly!

The Louth crest (the bridge) was a new one. Brigids cross has always been the Louth crest. The bridge is half in Louth and half in meath.

So busy are the LCB that they have time to discuss these improtnat matetrs!!!

We had our one changed only a few years ago, used to be a traditional type crest with a few different things going on, now we've got a kind of contemporary St. Brigids cross. Before that again it was just a simple snake.

Three in recent memory seems to be pushing it a bit I feel, don't really see why many counties would want to change crests, nothing wrong with a bit of tradition and keeping them the way they are.

Dublin county board changed ours from the 3 castles a few years ago because of the whole merchandising thing. In fairness the 3 castles probably shouldn't of been used seeing as its the crest of the city not the county.

The county one is of a bird perched on a fence! It has the motto 'beart do réir ár mbriathar' underneath.

For 2011 we'll have a portrait of Conor O'Mahony holding aloft the Liam McCarthy Cup we won the previous year.

I'm delighted that we voted to change it, the bridge is in Meath and even if it was in louth i still wouldn't want it in the crest, it means nothing to us i just don't know how we kept it this long.

RLF, it wasn't discussed ay a county board meeting. The crest was changed at the county convention as a result of a motion from The O Raghallaighs being debated and passed.
