Shercock

It has been a great week for Shercock.

Jody has taken the reins for the next two years and Paddy Reilly is the new Minor Board Chairman. Hopefully for a change both men will get the support they deserve from their own people.

I think you are being very unfair to Jody here I feel that he will look after them and a nice lad he is as well, if you are judging on his job as minor manager well unfair call don't you think, A long time since the Cavan Minors won in Ulster and I would have to say that the best team we had since then was with Brendan Nelligan but still nothing, Give him a chance, how many more out there want to give up their time to help there home club. Young Ciaran Lennon's off to Australia anyway so that's one and i think one or 2 might be looking to transfer to a neighbour club(Shercock).

There is plenty of the Drumgoon lads friendly with Cootehill and Drung lads and they won't be trasferring so I would imagine there won't be any local trasfers there!

Good point Rocksteady. They would probably go to Cootehill if anywhere.

some of the goonie lads gettin fed up with the expectation on them, with killan gaels winnin the minor, cootehill reachin the intermediate final and losin twice to drung its very obvious the rot has set in and theyre jumpin ship, hadnt heard about that mc gorry lad but id well believe it, id expect his cousin whos a great prospect to join aswell since he has strong shercock links

would have thought Knockbride was a more likely destination for those drumgoon lads, given their amalgamation this year. Anyway, as I understood it, Shercock didn't field a minor championship team this year, the shercock u21s were beaten by their neighbours in the championshhip and the senior team finished second from bottom in div. 2 (not a very attractive future prospect). On the other hand, Knockbride won a minor league and made a minor championship final on their own, finished a safe mid-table in Div 2 and are contesting intermediate championship. Are shercock still playing junior championship football.......not sure that will be attractive to many drumgoon or cootehill players either. Anyway, Good Luck Jody....great player, a fine GAA ambassador and a nice guy.
