Louth facalities are my no means finished we had to get changed in mobile homes that would not even hold a panal of 25 player never mind 30 plus staff... And did louth not recieve a lottory grand for theres hence the running track. GAA players are not doing athlitices..
As for playing on a 3g field... Its not a gaelic field and my no means is it good for you..
Every county is different fermanagh shuold be proud of the facilities... If u ask any person that plays on them the only problem is the find it hard to catch ur breath but thats the idea of it in the hills is too open ur lungs as much as u can....
Why people are slagging of facilities should go back to were the come from and fix the problem there before trying to slag of a perfect facility the the county has to meet their needs.

People on here can say what they want about lissan but if it was as bad as everyone makes out then people wouldn't go train there every year even if it was for there county! It has absolutely nothin to do with the football. True footballers will be happy where ever they train no matter what the conditions are as long as there is a ball, a pitch of some sort and 2 sets of posts. So all you people who wanna complain about it go on ahead but ya's only think ya's know what ye's are talkin about. And if you's feel so strongly why don't ya's take it upon yourselves to do somethin about it? Lissan does the job, all that matters!

wat id like to know is why a laois man is concerned about a football field in fermanagh, he/she should be more concerned about their own pitches and their own football so to them this post is completely pointless..

Typical attitude, 'it does the job'. Sure a stone road, as opposed to a tared road 'does the job'. But, hovever it is still *****. I am a proud Laois man living in Fermanagh.

Could Lissan be put to better use?

Coa man I'm not sure what you are getting at as it is used quite alot. Forby the county training for all teams there is an underage blitz this weekend. The only problenm I see it was located in the wrong place. I suppose the likes of Coa would like to rent it for their home games as their own arrangement falls short of the standard expectedf.

Coa_gael instead of worrying about the co board's training ground why don't you look at your own basic set up and do something to get the field improved to a 21st century standard.

gaalltheway and erneboy we have a good pitch and certainly don't ned Lissan. What I was saying could this field not be put to better use..say lease out during the winters months to other sports.

Coa_gael are you suggesting the the county board should lease Lissan out for soccer?

Typical of a Coa man as they see soccer in the same light as gealic football...some GAA man you are.

When you see something like this http://kildare.gaa.ie/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=550&Itemid=267 you have to wonder what happened with Lissan...

solano please get real as one cannot compare Fermanagh's development with a similar development in one of the wealthest areas of the country.

However, you did make me laugh as someone like yourself coming from Newtownbutler running down Lissan while your own club has probably the worst pitch in the county. To add to that you have the worst senior team as you are sitting at rock bottom in the league.

So take that and put in your pipe and smoke it!

Yesterdaysman ur views are totaly in line with fermanagh county board accepting a half arsed effort such as lissan wen we see what can be done in other counties. money spent on and to buy the ground (mountain) at lissan should have been put to better use.
