sure thats mclarnon football. were on about county under 21's here. Jus cus players from ur club are on a winning school team doesnt mean they automatically make the county team. they may be facts but they are not very good facts in my eyes. you wrote it was last year think ul find were still in 2009.;) and previousli you wrote about how sarsfield beat creggan and cargin in the 08 minor championship think ur the one living in the past. mackers53 (Antrim) - Posts: 19 - 13/12/2009 12:42:55 512350 Link 0 |
a simple question, is this the best under 21 panel in the county ? the answer is no it is'nt. thats all we are stating. i could pick 5 who should be on it and would not even need a trial. the question is why are they not there ? bob.foley (Antrim) - Posts: 47 - 13/12/2009 14:25:50 512403 Link 0 |

2010timetoplay do u realise wat u said?? it might be pathetic but it happens if you can tell me there wasnt players pre selected before the trials then you are wrong!!! it is know that there was a group of players pre selected and even if they didnt trial they would have still been picked!! so for bob to suggest that players should be picked without a trial isnt far from the truth! also i agree that there should have been some the players who have mentioned on this team but we all know the GAA is run by politics no matter wat county you are in! All the better for those clubs whos players missed out on the panel! opposition (Antrim) - Posts: 41 - 13/12/2009 20:54:16 512802 Link 0 |

Was Patrick Fitzpatrick from Sarsfields not on the antrim u21 panel of 09.Why is it that he never got selected this year again? JFK10 (Antrim) - Posts: 24 - 04/01/2010 14:39:33 523983 Link 0 |
how is it that everyone is overlooking the best player in the county, possibly even ulster!! ciaran carson is a brick wall in the defence and should have been picked before any of that lot from cargin or creggan or any team for that matter!! in my opinion carson should not only be full back on the under 21 and senior team county teams, he should be the captain as well!! think this panel shows a shift in power and in mentality ... times are changing and the big name clubs arent just as dominant anymore .... in years gone by this panel was almost exclusivley made up of division 1 players ... and arguably rightly so ... but if you look at the more dominant senior counties they are made up using players from senior intermediate and even junior clubs ... its refreshing to see Antrim selectors thinking outside the box ... lets all get behind the lads whoevers one the park come chamionship day redandwhite10 (Antrim) - Posts: 9 - 17/01/2010 12:56:16 535092 Link 0 |

cormac mc grady misses out 4 wat reasoon. was impressive in the trails. yes got taken off early in the minor champo but finshed with 3 points and joint top scorer 4 antrim on the day. never shud hav been subbed and defo shud be on this panel theblender (Antrim) - Posts: 11 - 27/01/2010 10:28:26 543656 Link 0 |
McGrady didn't struggle at all for a starting position, he was a cert to be on the first 15. He's a good player, a regular scorer for Brigids and i agree didn't have an ideal game against DnG but worked hard all year round. Maybe he's too young for u21s this year but he'll be on it next year no bother. laoch (Antrim) - Posts: 140 - 28/01/2010 18:49:45 545303 Link 0 |
All this talk of mc grady, are the county forgeting about the likes of Brian nesson of st.johns who was arguably the best player in last years u21 championship and should be a contender for the antrim senior panel , desy mc clean of gort na mona who is a great young footballer who will undoubtadly be on the county senior hurling or football in the next few years and dermot mc veigh of gort na mona who i believe was the top scorer in the 2008/09 macrory cup campaign which is the pinical of ulster colleges A football and a by far a higher standard than this county minor football talk ?? any opinions? iggle_piggle (Antrim) - Posts: 3 - 01/02/2010 10:16:36 547901 Link 0 |

Mclean and mcveigh two of the brightest prospects in antrim football, real quality. Surely gonna see them line out in a senior jersey in the coming years. Antrimlegend (Antrim) - Posts: 31 - 01/02/2010 16:47:16 548411 Link 0 |
