my original post was not allowed on. Suffice to say I was not amused. I'll say one thing to get the ball rolling, where the hell is the lad Neeson from St. Johns? Even a south west man would agree he is a class act. been watching games he has been involved in since he was a nipper!

some outstanding players missing from this squad... dont know if they didnt attend the trials or not but names like mcalea and loughran from sarsfields, mcgrady from st.brides, mcveigh and dessie from gort!!! not saying this team is weak but for me these players should be in it

Neeson from St Johns is suspended at the minute i think.. is he not overage? Maybe he has one final year..not quite sure, just remember him being the same year as McGourty,Burke, Crozier etc at minor level

McGrady from st.bridgids was not impressive in the minor last year. struggled for a starting place. won't touch that u21 squad, taken off against Dun Na nGall in the championship. Philip Maguire St.Treasa's

Chris mcguinness is the best you footballer in the county and not on the panel?? Disgracefull. Dermot McVeigh was the best player in last years macrory cup and didnt get the call. But wait 2 belfast lads? Sorry lads our sophisticated leaders of GAA in Antrim say you shouldnt be on the panel....

Did Stevie Wonder pick that under 21 panel? No loughran no mcalea two of the best young talents in antrim, is it because they play for an unfashionable club. Antrim's loss is sarsfields gain. Keep the chin up lads. Paddies Abu!!!!

none of the aforementioned players, perhaps with the exception of dermot mcveigh, are any better than those players picked, and in two cases in particular are alot worse than those picked! i think that the selection is a fair reflection of the trials and as such the right players have been picked for a change!

Brain Neeson is one of the best footballers in the county at his age level. Look how he single handledly destroyed teams in the U21 championship. As for dermot mc veigh a cracking footballer who ahs the the ability to take scores form anywhere on the park. Mc Alea is another outstanding half back and so is chricmc guinness if not just a bit young yet. The point im going to make is that htese players have played at Ulsters finest College level. They have the experience of top level football and I can tell you theres at least 12 names on that team eho wouldnt have half the experience of these players. I am disapointed to say the least

in relation to the lads who were not picked for selection it seems a case of not what you know but who you know!!!! baker was not even at the first trial!!!! lockies scored 4 points in the first trial 3 points in the second trial and a goal and 3 in the third trial.all from half back!!!!he was the minor county player of the yr 2 yrs ago and has improved enormously since then.mcalea and paddy fitz were deemed good enough last yr but not this.strange!!!! i think its quite obvious that there is a bias towards the paddys since the incident with the county captain this yr.anyone else agree

i also attended all 4 trials as my son was hoping to make the panel this year, alot of thepayers looked great on the first trial as the majority of the players picked on the panel were excused as they played for their universitys on the friday and for other reasons im sure, however i also traveled to glenullen on a quite dreadful nite to c the trial match against a good not brilliant club side in glenullen and the boys u mentioned were completly out of their depth, maybe thats were the management made their minds up on these players and even though they wernt on their own i feel they have made the right call on these players.also being on the panel the year before doesnt give them the right to be part of it this year, players improve in a season unlike mcalea and fitz who i feel have went backwards, loughran only attended 2 of the trials so i dont know how he performed so well in three.
my son never made the panel also but i wish the team all the luck this year,i dont think u can have much debate on this team as from what i seen over the 4 trials they are pretty spot on.

u seem very clued up for just a parent?????? maybe u are a little more involved!!!!!well how did loughran do in those 2 trials????i am a paddies man and i can tell you he scored more than 50 points this yr in senior from half back.name me another who could do that????loughran went to glenullin but was unable to play due to injury and could not attend last trial due to work commitments.what i am asking is that i feel sarsfields are being treated unfairly.if those lads are not good enough then fine but if they are being judged on their club then it is not fine.re mcalea and fitz going backwards then i think you must be blinkered.young mccrudden got picked but is not a patch on those 2 and that is just one i could name.

sorry to hear your son has not made it to the under 21 panel but i personally think you have got it wrong about the two lads. mcalea was one of those players that played for his university the day before and showed the commitment to play the trail and scored three points of the young lad mc veigh who was the senior panel last year.i didnt attend the other trials but heard that mcalea scored 1-1 from half-back. in the other hand at the glenuillinn game paddy fitz i watched with my oown eyes was the only man to keep his man scoreless if u watched the you would have noticed. i can personally admit from watching christopher loughran all year he is one of the most talented players in the county at this age. these boys have been three of our most important players throughout the season and aasking other teams they would probaly say very much the same

who's BRIAN MC QUILLAN (ALDERGROVE) never heard of that boy? whats he like and where does he play?
Wudve liked to see Peter Owens, Simon Dowds from St Galls on it and maybe a few younger boys...give them a bit of an experience. for example young chris mc guiness from rossa and declan lynch from Lamh Dherg, two both young players with a lot of talent playing A football for their school.

On the face of it, it looks like sarsfields past indiscretions are being used as a stick to beat them with. These lads will keep knocking on the door hopefully those with blinkered views will take their rose tinted glasses off. They talk about a city country divide, 6 from the city and 19 from the south west i say no more.
