having seen the u21 chamionship this year its clear that this years team needs to have alot of players from adamstown, glynn and the annes. thouhght Mervyn Moloney had a very good campaign in midfield, great speed and handling with an eye for goal, along side him the just as good if not better Michael Furlong a real player in the making, moloney should really be pushing for a wing forward position and furlong for a wing back spot. also from adamstown Pj carrol and James Breen have to be definate starters, best defenders in the county at this level. from glynn john leacy is made for centre back on this team that is if he is fit and injury free, also Alan Cowman must be in for a good shout, not amazing but is very reliable and always gives a solid display. althogh Fanning is not involved at the moment should be said he is a very tidy player. then from annes Sean Gaul another who wont set the place a light but would be one of the first players down on my team for purely his work rate and determination. then Liam Og one of the best forwards in wexford at this level should definaly be slotting into a corner forward position. Are the present crop of u21 players lacking overall quality from our previous county teams over the last number of years? some of the players mentioned in prev posts are very average footballers and are by no means county stanrdard. or is just me thinking this? matchbox02 (Wexford) - Posts: 99 - 14/01/2010 11:20:50 532588 Link 0 |
Best of luck to whoever is on the panel but we are going nowhere....... Not the players or managements fault but the county board. Whether we like it or not nearly every other county has had a squad picked and being training for around the last two months. Kildare had a final squad training in early November (same as last year when they destroyed us) Offaly had a training camp with SIX training session last weekend because they felt they were behind with the bad weather.... There is the making of a decent team this year (not spectacular, but decent) but whether its right or wrong we will not be able to compete with our training so far behind.... What ever happened to ur man Niall Kelly (Shels), think he shud be in his last yr u21..? Played county minor for 2 years so can't be too bad.. Saw him at de Shels Glynn Barntown match in de u21 back in August and taut he looked very good. ricky (None) - Posts: 86 - 14/01/2010 17:03:27 533034 Link 0 |

I believe that Cillian Kehoe wud be a great addition to the U-21 team and also Shane Cullens younger brother Grahem. Also Declan Murphy from Horsewood southeastwonder (Wexford) - Posts: 7 - 15/01/2010 17:29:43 534117 Link 0 |

Plus in my opinion he might not have the talent and doesn't have the interest...... Sounds bad but as my post above stated why would you want to play for a team that is at such a disadvantage compared to other counties Snialler (Wexford) - Posts: 19 - 16/01/2010 11:56:13 534522 Link 0 |
Lads any word on the squad for this. I was told that its mainly Shels, Annes and Glynn players but that 2 Ballyhogue players were on it. I cant think of any Ballyhogue players that age that would make it sure ur man Sean O Neill is surely overage? FMG (Wexford) - Posts: 24 - 16/01/2010 16:07:44 534695 Link 0 |
