If you want to get Jobseekers Allowance/Benefit move out from home Duffy. The dole is to assist people who have been laid off or are looking for work, it is not for spending on expensive christmas presents for your imaginary girlfriend or pints with your mates. Your parents are obviously earning enough money to support you, so you don't need assistance currently. Your xenophobic rant is pretty sad, as is the support you received from others, do ye think there are not Irish citizens committing social welfare fraud or what?

nocky u are just jumping on the p.c banwagon , as i said before if u do not deal with peoples concerns brush them aside then u are going 2 suck them into the vacum of racists , this is the reason the vile b.n.p in england have gained votes because the mainstream parties did not listen, causing a backlash.

Toma007, not getting much of an answer to your question I see except for thr RUANUA. I worked for 4 years as a Benefit Fraud investigator and would personally tend to agree mostly with Rua in relation to his points. I am also doing a degree in Counter Fraud and Criminal Justice and the latest assignment asked whether or not "need not greed" was the fundamental cause of fraud. In relation to benefit fraud, need is the greater cause although there are quite numerous instances of greed. For example, a young single mother I investigated worked part time didn't declare it but made an extra £50 per week. Although technically a fraud I could understand why she needed to do it as she was living on £140 per week with a young child. This does not condone it per se but any balanced person would accept that it was a consequence of poverty. On the other hand I investigated a man who claimed upawards on £700 per week benefit with his wife, both claiming Disability etc who was running a business that had a turnover of approx £250,000 a year. They drove an X5 and a BMW convertible. This was a calculated attempt at deception motivated by greed, but at the end of the day was it anymore of a decption than by the single mother? The figures were different and the motives were different however the attempt to misrepresent their situation to dishonestly gain and advantage by deception was the same in both cases. Do we say that crime, which is what it is, is acceptable because of our motive? To an extent we do as for example, although not a direct comparison, manslaughter and murder are the same thing with a different motive.

I think that the perceive high rates of benefit in the south can encourage fraud, especially if someone from the south is working in the North, or a Northerner signing down south whilst living in the north. An interesting thread Toma and I wish that it had developed along the line which you originally intended.

On a separate note, BOSCH, are you serious with that comment?

I know of people who have worked for cash and been on the dole all their lives, and they are 100% irish. Worst thing is they are still doing it; totally recession-proof! Pretty much a career criminal when you think about it. They have no more interest in helping the country than the man in the moon. Total selfishness and greed, exactly what got us into the state we are in now. These two traits are more and more common in irish people today and we are fast becoming a nation of grabbers. We say we want to get out of the recession, yet any cutback is met with strikes galore. The attitude seems to be get the money asap, but out of some1 else's pocket, again exactly what got us to where we are.

Duffy is not entitled to social welfare as he is living at home and his parents are able to support him. Likewise, a 19yo Polish man living in Ireland with his Polish parents who are employed and earning enough money to support him would not be entitled to social welfare. The xenophobia and racism from some posters on here is disgusting.

You're right about one thing though ta32, I don't want Sinn Féin (the Irish equilavent of the BNP) to become any more popular.

Why MORE entitled to it. one is either entitled or not.. any EU citizen, or non EU citizen with a work permit , who have the requirments laid down by Social Welfare receive their entitlements. as for your pronouncements on ethnic cleansing, I thought party policy had changed on that.
