Tyrone over 40's in the All Ireland Final!

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Got the tail end of this match on Q101. Tyrone have made the All-Ireland Final. This is a very good achievement given that the team that they beat had All-Ireland winning players such as McGurk and the infamous Joe Brolly. If the final is within a reasonable travelling distance I shall attend. Well done to all of those involved. There are a number of guys from the mid 80's who never won all-irelands but were good enough. It would be justice if some of these guys were to pick up medals at this level at least.

We played the over 40's a few years back, Hardy boys to say the least...

Eamon Kavangh was great for them that day, and Munroe was playing the enforcer abit

Best ive seen tho was Tyrone vs Down 2 years ago, Micky Linden was awesome, That man could still play a high standard of ball

was at the match as my father was playing in it. fantastic game of football, munroe and fergal gormly wer both brilliant, was very dissappointed with brolly, for a man that was playing senior football last year he was very slow and never really got going but was marked out of it my the tyrone conor back not sure of his name. tyrone wer a point down at half time and to be honest i thaught they wernt going to stick it but they kept the legs turning an wen iggy jones grabed the goal it was the killer punch as derry never looked lik winning it after tht.

the other semi final between dublin and mayo was called of due to fog so it wil be played next saturday and the final will be the following week

all the best fellas!

Think Kevin Bogle was marking Brolly- probably giving him as good as he got in the verbals stakes as well- think the goalscorer was Iggy Gallagher- Iggy Jones I don't think is with us any longer

No your wrong - Kevin Bogle was in the other corner -
I believe it was Eunan Conway ex Dunamanagh/Clann na Gael now with St. Brigids, Belfast who marked Brolly out of it.
He played minor in the mid to late eighties for Tyrone and is currently the Senior Manager of St. Brigids who Brolly plays for so obviously knew how to play Brolly.
He actually went up the field and scored himself !

the game was live on Q101. Seemed to be quite a lively affair - not suprising for a Tyrone/Derry match I suppose. By all accounts Gavin Mc Elroy seemed to have a great game on Enda Gormley wit Gormley being subbed. Didnt think Mc Elroy was over 40 ???? do those carmen boys ever hang them up ?

lets hope Tyrone can go all the way !!!!!!!!!!
