Kieran Kennedy should be in the panel also! Was midfield on the Ard scoil team that nearly won the comp 2 years ago! A limerick minor 2 seasons ago! lovely stick hurler!

There seems to be a deferring of opinions on who will be the u21 goalkeeper next year. Kilmallock's Barry Hennessy or Aaron Murphy of Hospital/Herbertstown. Both are fine keepers.

Hennessy is on his way toward maybe winning consecutive u21 county A championships and has a great deal of experience for a young man. Bags of talent and will be the Killmallock keeper for the next decade. As someone has mentioned previously, he is currently on trial with the Limerick seniors, following on from his spell with the Limerick Intermediates.

Murphy enjoyed his best season so far in 2009. He was part of the Hospital schools team that won the Munster Colleges hurling earlier this year and won his second county u21 B hurling championship with St.Johns recently. He was Limerick minor keeper for the 3rd year in a row this year and followed that with steller displays for South Emmets on the way to the county senior semi-final. He too is on trial with the Limerick seniors at present.

Wish we had 2 top class choices for every position!

If Hannon wants to,if he's good enough and he appears to be well able for it,he should be picked for the u21s.

Lads, I have seen Cian Hayes playing and he has potential, he attacks the ball, dominates in front of goal and he has a good attitude, he and Kieran Kennedy from Crecora should be part of a 60 player development squad and the intermediate county team should be picked from these guys as well. We should be using the Intermediate to give experience to young lads andnot playing fellows who will never make it at the highest level. Just putting the players from the last few minor teams on the 21 panel is not the way to go, remember Stephen McDonagh never played minor for Limerick, we need to find players like him from all the clubs in the county.

1. Barry Hennessy (Killmalock) (Best keeper on offer between him and Aaron Murphy)
2. Wayne Cronin (St Patricks) (Commands centre back for Pats Juniors. Great fielder, agressive and both sided)
3. Cian Hayes (Kildimo) (Good tough defender. Commands the full back line)
4. David Lynch (Na Piarsigh) (Solid Defender. Great ball striker)
5. Paudie O Brien (Killmallock) (Overall good player)
6. John O Riordan (Templegantine) (Solid Player)
7. Nicky Quaid (Effin) (Very Energetic player capable of playing anywhere really)
8. Paul Browne (Bruff) (Very versatile pacey player)
9. Niall Maher (Doon) (Strong skillful player. Should have been involved last year)
10. Graeme Mulcahy (Killmallock) (Will push for s senior start in 2010)
11. Bobby o Brien (Bruff) (Will be great player if he commits.)
12. Declan Hannon (Adare) (1-14 against newtown.)
13. Thomas O Brien (Patrickswell) (Natural Scorer lots of pace)
14. James O Brien (Na Piarsigh) (Tall lad and good fielder. Can command the full back)

Is gleeson still underage? jason hayes will prob make corner back this season. Mulcahy would be more dangerous in the corner, would play tobin at full forward, closer to the goals the better, he would skin the full back one on one.

Robert Sheehan should make the team. Greay hands on him and the best striker of a ball i've seen. Also, Kevin Downes is definitely one of the best midfielders in Limerick, even though he's new to the position. David Lynch's best position is on the wing. Don't know where they will play him on the Limerick seniors. James O'Brien is good enough to make the panel but not sure if he has the pace to make the team.

Barry Hennessy is the best keeper in the county and should start for the seniors.
Not sure if Begley has what it takes for intercounty hurling even though he started last year.

philip o loughlin is out of the country until the start of the summer..i dont agree with begley in the suggested starting line ups...what about giving kevin o donnell from kilmallock a look?..theres great players here this year....more mature...need a right management..i dont think ruairi o shaughnessy is near the standard. No offence to the young fella.

Lads its all the same what the u21 hurling team will be as they cant in 12 months crawl back the hiding they got from
Clare u21s (the all ireland champions) in Ennis.

Limerick hurling has nothing coming up to add misery to the senior problem with Justin!

Confident bloke aren't you... Come back to us when ye have won 3-in-a-row.

Ah yes I would always be confident when facing Limerick right the frame of mind is right as limerick at best are unlimited.

As for winning 3 in a row u21 all irelands in Clare probably not but who knows!

What good did the 3 in a row u21 titles do for Limerick Seniors not a thing! And we won two senior all irelands
in the nineties 95 and 97, more than what limerick done loosing two in 94 and 96 in comical style!
In fact had Limerick not fluked the 96 win against Clare. Clare would have won that all ireland too that limerick lost against
an average Wexford Team!
Acourse 1998 Clare won the all ireland in all but name as simple as that too.

Finally may I point out that the three all ireland u21 titles limerick won, only one of them was a real earned one against a Galway Team!
The other two were runaway ones against another poor Galway Team and Wexford Team!
When Limerick have beaten KILKENNY THE CATS, in a u21 final then one can talk!

So my son one u21 final win against the CATS of kilkenny is worth 3 limerick poor u21 titles!

Anyway we would be afraid if Clae won 3 in a row that the players may get swelled heads like limerick did and many limerick fans!

As far as I am concerned nothing to be really gained from Clare winning the u21 again this year. Wont be the end of the world if they dont
as too much talent together ruins the Senior Prospects!

However if Clare are handed it they will take it if that means hammering Limerick u21s along the way!

Mind you Limerick will probably bust their gut to beat Clare u21s in limerick and then flop as they did in 1996
when they beat clare seniors and ruined the championship when loosing to wexford seniors in the final!
(If the backdoor was back there then Clare would have won the 96 all ireland also )
