5. Why is there no reciprocal agreement for Gaelic games to be played at Landsdowne Road/Aviva stadium?

for 3 reasons mainly, The GAA has more stadia than they have any idea what to do with, secondly the FAI and IRFU like most or all other sports bodies on the planet have no need for an agreement as they will allow anyone to rent the ground without holding a Congress or whatever. and on a practical level it is too small especially for hurling.

Hate the small mindedness of some posters to other sports. Well done dhorse on your intelligent posts. The question I keep asking is do other sports have to fail in order for the Gaa to be a success? And Donkey I have to admit to being partial to a bit of 20/20 or ODI Cricket!

Were in the name of all that is sacred did this come from?

Why pick out harmless Galatasary? Who was that club that wrecked Barnsley recently?

You wouldn't want them there.

Soccer is BORING, but cricket?

Second only to hurling as an enthralling spectator sport, for the educated of course.

No foreign games in Croker

1. Croke park was built from the money that GAA fans have paid at gates for decades and should be left for those GAA fans for GAA games
2. Soccer came to Ireland as a Garrison game played by British soldiers in Garrison towns - hardly a Fitting game for GAA HQ
3. Rugby is sport only played in former colonys- It is a sport polularised in Ireland by the West Brit public schoolboy media and only played by old school tie brigade again hardly fitting for GAA

The rugby heads and their corporate D4 friends have had long enough to sort out their own house and would have had the money for years of they put their mind to it - they should have sold Landsowne during the property boom but the snobs did'nt want to play rugby in the suburbs.
They have made their own bed now let them lie in it.

when soccer rugby, cricket or tiddlywinks are being played by irish people then they are our own sports

No, I looked and looked but can't see the logic here.

I think if they are times when the GAA are not utilising Croke park for their own games, Lettings to other Organisations,( other the volountary) should be made on Commercial decisions and the best terms and conditions should be sought for the benifit of the entire Gaa family.
I feel they should facilate Volountary Community, Shools groups etc, for a nominal sum.

For what its worth, my opinion is that soccer or rugby or concerts should only be played unless there is a major financial gain to the GAA.

Not interested in whether other games like soccer or rugby are our games or not. GAA games are in definite and constant competition and the time is now that we have to be competitive and utilise any and all we have to ensure the future of our games.

madasbutter, there are a few serious flaws in your argument. The government donated around Euro 12 million to finish Croke Park, so it didn't all come from the GAA itself. Also rugby is played throughout Limerick (and other counties), hardly West Brit heartlands. It is also played in 90 odd contries worldwide.
GAA supporters can also be rugby, soccer fans too or tidlywinks fans as d'Horse says. It doesn't matter what sport we are playing, if Ireland is playing we should support them. Some GAA fans are an embarrasment with their seige mentality, it's time to get over the "Brit games" thing. We all know what they did, it's time to move on.

The english language and indoor plumbing were introduced to ireland by the british also, do you have difficulties using either.
It was GAA members that allowed other games into croke park, did you voice any concerns at your club AGM that year

yeah, how about inviting Linfield to play Rangers as part of a double header with the AI Hurling Final. If nothing else it'd be great seeing all the sneakin' regarders have their noses put out of joint
