Sounds as if the seans shouldnt even bother showing up on sunday as this is a foregone conclusion star10 (Monaghan) - Posts: 31 - 03/12/2009 10:12:22 501687 Link 0 |
Should be a close fierece contest on Sunday . As a neutral i would like to see currin win as they lost the final last year and have a decent foward line . However they seem to always flop at the big hurdle and never can beat clones in the big games . Seans will be tough opposition and in treanor and larkin inside they have two dangerous fowards . The clones field will be wet and heavey and this may suit currin more as its similar to their own field . Think it will go down to the wire and currin just to shade it FrankAnnyalla (Monaghan) - Posts: 339 - 03/12/2009 11:31:36 501755 Link 0 |

Currin are definately favorites to win this one with great planers like Dick and Ben Clerkin, Jack McCarron and the O'Callaghan bros - Should be very strong. Seans are no slouchers either but found it a bit harder to find their feet in Junior than they thought (i'd say they would admit this themselves). Anyway it shoul be a good match but Id go for Currin particularily cause of the Clerkin brothers. The Sage (Monaghan) - Posts: 351 - 03/12/2009 13:35:40 501870 Link 0 |

well,as i predicted in the opening post ,it was a draw.Seans had a serious wind and should have been out of sight after 20mins but couldnt take their chances.Currin are very fortunate to get a second bite at this.Currins forwards were starved of possesion due to Seans domination in the middle. Anyway Seans were the better team, but Currin surely cant play that badly again even though the scored 10 times to Seans 8. Seans are favourites for the replay but i think they may have left it behind yesterday. hogoboss (Monaghan) - Posts: 617 - 07/12/2009 12:36:46 505765 Link 0 |
Wouldnt you know it Ben you'd have to get writing up here again after yesterday..after building your team up for the last few weeks ur saying dat seans threw it away and i completely agree with you... although you cant just turn around and say seans are favourites now because of yesterday..if u say it was a bad day 4 u's does that not mean currin will still be favourites? and il ask you this...did currin score from play at all?..from my recolection of the game the answers no.. well lads i also predicted a currin win they are very lucky to be in a reply. Both teams played below par but it was ok to watch some fair tackling, tracking back edd1 (Monaghan) - Posts: 35 - 07/12/2009 15:48:51 506033 Link 0 |
Ben - i love how u say that Seans were kind of best on day, but how u's outscored them tally wise and how they've missed the boat!ha You must be laughing when your writing your posts!! Brolly (Monaghan) - Posts: 4472 - 07/12/2009 17:16:01 506193 Link 0 |
Brolly where did i say Seans were "kind of the best?,i said they were the better team! and so they were. They looked fitter than expected and seemed to have planned this game to perfection.sleeping giants and all that.thats why they are now favourites.also id love to see the post which had me talking Currin up this season.Anyway i cant believe the ref isnt getting a mention here.2 huge decisions which had a huge inpact in the game.going to book 2 players (1 in each half)who had allready been booked, then changing his mind when he realised that they were allready in the book.the pitch was awfull, surely Emyvale would be a better option and both clubs wouldnt mind traveling as yesterday ended up been a war of attrition.looking forward to next weekend. hogoboss (Monaghan) - Posts: 617 - 07/12/2009 19:26:20 506377 Link 0 |
well guys...agreed no.8 and 3 for the seans should have walked without a doubt...luck struck for seans again!!! currin will have to win more ball in midfield...but shouldn't be that big of a problem if dick, ben and marrow are on form. if jack and even dick kicks as good frees again will be a big help. Hugoboss - I agree the Seans were lucky not to have either or both of those lads picking up a second yellow. On the other hand, I thought that the Ref gave Currin a lot of very handy scorable frees - Seans were too indiciplined at the back but some of the frees were very soft and given that Currin didn't score from play, those decisions were at least if not more significant than the 2 non-second yellows. Dick went to the ground, holding his face evry time anyone went near him. The Seans no 8 is a big lad alright but I saw Dick hit the turf one time the Seans corner forward and probably the smallest player on the field brushed up against him. Silly really. Anyway - leaving all that aside - It was an exciting match and well done to all involved. Looking forward to the replay - Room for improvement on both sides and good luck to both.
