Junior league final Currin V Seans

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

this will be an interesting encounter between the teams that finished 3rd and 4th.
Seans have held the upper hand in both league games but Currin give them a bit of a beating in the championship at the same venue.
i wouldnt put the mortgage on the pitch been playable but i'd guess that a last minute venue change rather than a date change will be the order of the day if
things go pear shape.this has to be and even money game with the team wanting it more coming good.Currin really blew up in last years final where the favourites
tag seemed to get to them.i think that this game has the making of a cracker which may take another day to decide.

Iagree it could be a great game. Both teams on their day play arunning game thats great to watch.Currin peaked against seans earlier then did,nt show
for clones game and played really well in emyvale game and would need to be aware have to equal that performence.Seans can score at will with the right
supply.Pound for pound i think currin have better players and for this paticuler sqaud deserve a victory. But good luck to seans as well.

i agree, should on paper be one of the games of the year but unfortunately doesn't always turn out like that. I've watched a lot of both teams this year and firmly believe seans are the best footballing side in junior.Going forward they can be very dangerous, but a win on sunday will depend a lot on whether or not young Paddy Kierans plays. I've heard hes injured and if so will be a big loss as everything goes through him.
On the other hand when Currin click, some intermediate teams may find it hard to deal with the pace of their forwards and work rate of their backs. From what I've seen inconsistancy has been this teams major weakness and it just seem to be impossible to predict which team will turn up. A win for currin will be determined on the supply to Jack McCarron and Stephen Smyth, along with the return to fitness of Ger O'Callaghan who was a different class against emyvale at times.
In a nutshell, both teams are fantastic going forward and i think currins backs are slightly better. If they can manage to get on top of larkin and co early i think Dr. Ward will be returnin to Scotshouse....anyone disagree??

They may well have the best forwards in monaghan but i imagine if they were both fantastic going forward they wouldn't be playing in a junior final. But i haven't seen either team so maybe i am doing a disservice to them. Or maybe they just have rubbish backs

You said they were fantastic going forward. Junior football must be of a great standard in Monaghan if some of the teams are fantastic

You're obviously only joking. A monaghan team has never even played in a junior all ireland final. I see your standard bearers emyvale managed a draw with the antrim junior champions today

Have to agree Currin have great forwards...as we do have a great defence. Forward play has been our downfall in recent years i think you'll agree with a rock solid defence. I wouldnt mind having any 2 of Currins forwards on our team and also I think they are a credit for such a small area to pick from. Also if we were to amalgamate with them I think we would give any...ANY..senior team a good run for their money!!! Would like to see this happen again for the senior championship..would be good for all of monaghan football..Any one agree??

ah new-bliss i dunno about that!senior teams wud kill that amalagamation. I'm not trying to be funny but what players would kileevan give to an amalgamation?i reckon the only ones that would fit into that currin team would be shane corr and darren quigley although i might be wrong!an amalgamation of currin and clones would be a very dangerous team i think as there would be a great squad of forwards and backs between the two clubs

Id rather play junior as Currin than senior amalgamated with another club.its just not the same.we were joint with Kileevan for juveniles in the 80s and it kind of worked. but i just wouldnt have the same passion for an amalgamated team. your club is your club.

i defintly think currin will win sunday and deep down currin know the final was against emyvale once clones were beat by seans.. the only thing that will beat currin is cockiness..the best team all year in junior was clones.. a couple of disgraceful decisions cost them against seans and you could see by the way the currin players at the match celebrated after seans won how relieved currin were that clones were beat..

p.s i would advice ben/hugoboss to concentrate on the match instead of posting silly messages on this site..he did the same before the final last year too and ended up having a stinker against aghabog so i thought he would have learned..

No harm Mick but that is a load of rubbish. I was at the Clones/Seans game and a huge majority of the Currin management/players were disappointed that Clones did not win the game. There were certainly no celebrations after the game and I spoke to most of the lads after the game. Most of the lads wanted to play Clones in the final as they have a point to proove v Clones whereas the opposite is the case for Seans after the Championship. Final will be a very tight game. If Currin can relax a bit, enjoy the occasion and play the football they are capable of, they will win but not by much...

obviously u didnt see your captain celebrating seans wining points then.. he didnt want to be put in ross adamsons pocket again.. clones have a vodoo sign over currin so everyman and his dog knows that currin wanted the best team in junior out..

Didn't see it because it didn't happen!! Don't mind anyone posting rubbish but take exception to lies !!! You are trying to tell me that Dick Clerkin celebrated Seans winning scores. I was very close to him and didn't see anything of the sort so go figure........
