Just occurred to me as i read these posts that i have played on teams in different decades with both peter and stephen fitzpatrick for the clans . Stephen has his fathers athletic ability , is more skillful , can find a team mate with a pass more often and is a very good player . He has potential . However up until now i think it would be fair to say he lacks peters dedication and commitment . Now he is older if stephen decided to knuckle down he potentially could be an inter county player . alanmckenna (Louth) - Posts: 28 - 15/12/2009 12:32:49 514309 Link 0 |

Does anyone on this not know who is currently training as part of the Louth panel?. Sure someone knows someone who is on the panel, and has told them who's training. They are all training upstairs in Felda 3 nights a week, but as yet it doesn't appear that anyone knows who is /isn't training LiathroidianMor (Louth) - Posts: 14 - 15/12/2009 15:34:42 514522 Link 0 |
Fitzer has been in the louth underage setup all through the years and only for a lack of disapline off the pitch lead him to not considered by MAC... and rightly so but new setup new attitude i hope he does sometin just to people can stop sayin peter looked after his son wit a place. boob (Louth) - Posts: 15 - 15/12/2009 16:18:44 514576 Link 0 |

Do u not think dat u mite be a tiny bit biased in ur opinion on stephen and peter fitzpatrick, after all u are a clans man and anyway how r we meant to take u seriously when u refused to referee a game because a wheelie bin full off footballs was in your changin room,u really should have checked the bin first before causing such a scene pratai (Louth) - Posts: 101 - 16/12/2009 19:09:20 515827 Link 0 |
'Plo' i think we have to be honest here. although the mochtas done very well this year in leinster and i credit them for that, they are playing junior football and i dont think many of their players with the exeption of young byrne would be able to cut it yet at inter county level. gareth hall from the da brides best louth prospect!! agree?? peawee (Louth) - Posts: 13 - 17/12/2009 12:01:56 516368 Link 0 |
John hume.Maybe your right. But they have a good young team I jus think they should be worth a look at..They give so much commiment i think the likes of Eamonn O Neill and englisby should be given a chance. They cant be much worse than whats ther.O neill and byrne destroyed two meath players against longwood and i think he should be giving a chance. He can get the better of burke and culliane you derserve a chance. What you Think? plo (Louth) - Posts: 21 - 17/12/2009 12:22:10 516392 Link 0 |
I'm sorry plo i have to disagree there. i was at the longwood game and it looked like young Byrne controlled the midfield and during the game he was marking both longwood midfielders. I believe he made O'Neill look good but a true analysis of the game will prove that he didnt have a great game. Personally i think englishby should be given a chance but O'Neill is too inconsistent and will have to wait another few years to mature but might be one for the future. John Hume1 In a previous post you referred to St Mochtas as a junior club which they are,we must't forget that they played intermediate league and finished that league only a point behind the team young fitzer plays with, also young mcdonnell played most of his football with a junior club with exception of this year which he missed most of through injury so what standard is he being judged on.i would put young byrne higher up the pecking order than these two players! richtea (Louth) - Posts: 36 - 17/12/2009 16:30:34 516618 Link 0 |
Richtea you are right. This is not meant as a sign of disrespect to either Andy Mc Donnell or Stephen Fitzpatrick but Declan Byrne is a considerably better than either of them. Greengrass (Louth) - Posts: 6180 - 17/12/2009 20:47:42 516863 Link 0 |
alanmckenna "Now he is older if stephen decided to knuckle down he potentially could be an inter county player ." how many players would can you say that about in the county at the minute at least 40 players? Does this mean he should be on the panel. in my opinion he should not be on the panel. its like a family run busniess this year. lets hope they shine at intercounty level some of the panelists havent shone at club level yet. best of luck 2010!! emmetog (Louth) - Posts: 46 - 18/12/2009 10:53:25 517414 Link 0 |
