Paddy O'Boyle from the Nicks did very well. Unspectacular performance but did a lot of donkey work, no pun intended. sameoldnicks (Louth) - Posts: 347 - 08/12/2009 11:54:18 507012 Link 0 |
I hear Shane Mc Coy was back up? How would he get on if he was brought back into the squad? He would still be young enough and he made his mark on the county team a couple of years ago? benny1 (Louth) - Posts: 7 - 08/12/2009 12:51:11 507058 Link 0 |

Your listing junior titles...wise up...well see how they fair out next year.... Bunyana (Louth) - Posts: 62 - 10/12/2009 12:04:23 509524 Link 0 |
That's very harsh, unwarranted and entirely negative Bunyana. The Mochtas are a small country club. Their performances in four different competitions this year have been outstanding. The fact that you choose to sneer at their championship performances in both Louth and Leinster is extremely begrudging. If you cannot give credit where is due you should reflect on your negativity.Whether or not The Mochtas have players capable of performing at inter county level is an entirely separate issue. I read something about Mickey Harte taking six of the minor squad from '09 into the squad for this year. We should do similar, lads like Eamon O'Neill, Nicolas O'Connor, get them involved in the setup and used to the intensity at that level, up til O'Byrne Cup at least. Couldn't do any harm. When is the squad being finalised? boob (Louth) - Posts: 15 - 11/12/2009 21:05:01 511373 Link 0 |
I want to make one thing clear, I am not a begruder at all, but i feel this has to be made. Big Mac left on the back of a lot of criticism most of which i thought was very harsh. Now i understand fitzer's appointment to be generally accepted and as i consider myself to be a true Louth fan I genuinely wish him and team the best of luck. What I can't understand is how he can bring his son onto the panel? he had to have known there was going to be a backlash, now if i were the louth manager (i will not be arrogant enough to claim to do a better job, because i wouldn't!) surely you wouldn't want to get off on the back foot! Stephen in my opinion is not good enough and has never even being mentioned (to my knowledge) as a possible candidate, so why would he do this? Now I know people are going to write in saying am petty and I genuinely try not to be, but I find myself annoyed writing this, I really wanted Fitzer's to do well for this county! But can anybody honestly say they haven't lost any respect for him with this decision?? blueone (Louth) - Posts: 50 - 14/12/2009 01:56:43 512975 Link 0 |
Blueone..... you've hit the nail on the head very well said! titz (Louth) - Posts: 4 - 14/12/2009 10:55:03 513064 Link 0 |
Can wee not wait until Fitzer announces his squads before wee start to speculate on who is or isn't in the squads. So far lads all we have is hearsay therefore I strongly suggest that wee all wait until the squads are officially made known by the manager before wee start to engage in rumor. I suspect wee wont have to wait very long for this to happen as Louth take on Meath in under 3 weeks time in Hagggardstown. squidword (Louth) - Posts: 2897 - 14/12/2009 12:13:40 513122 Link 0 |
if Fitzers son attended the trials and showed up well then he is as entitiled as anyone else who attended to be picked. There are 3 selectors with Fitzer so it was not just his choice. . I;m sure those that took part in the trials or were there will know. Dont know why its such a surprise as he was with all the underage squads. blueboy (Louth) - Posts: 331 - 14/12/2009 15:54:18 513355 Link 0 |
