489092 gilly look at my earlier posts on the page before. im agreeing with you. its disgaceful anyone choosing an all-ireland over the world cup

We're not all West Brits who would choose an ENGLISH game (i.e Soccer) over the National sport of Ireland, Your a revisionist and a partitionist.

Lol this stuff is priceless!!!

I would take an All Ireland Club title first, World Cup win second and then All Ireland win.
I was lucky enough to be around in 1992 and it was great, probably wont happen in my lifetime again.

world cup. best feeling i ever had outside of class As was down winning the All Ireland in 1991, great in 1994 but not quite the same euphoria. Ireland winning the grand slam last year was something special but imagine winning a world cup. will never happen but would be unreal.

paddyogall football is the world sport. england DID NOT invent football. they invented the first set of rules.

balls have been around for hundreds of years. kicking a stone back in the stone age could qualify as an early version of football. but whats for sure is england DID NOT invent football.

I'd take an Ulster but I'd have to score the winning point!

World Cup obviously. It is a global event and patriotism and national pride would mean a great deal to us as a nation.

Since this year is the 125th anniversary of Monaghan not winning an All-Ireland. I'd take the All-Ireland anytime over the worldcup..

All Ireland without doubt, but would prefer an Ulster first.

I would consider myself as a GAA die-hard/fanatic even, Gaelic Football is my number 1 sport, but on purely sporting terms IF Ireland were to compete and win a WORLD cup soccer competition with over 26 BILLION people tuning in worldwide to watch Ireland becoming world champions it's a complete no brainer. Even the most ardent one eyed monster GAA fan should be able to appreciate this, but obviously not.

World cup it is for me, especially if we were to beat Enger-land at their game in the final.

Which Ireland is that Mugsy - Northern Ireland or the Republic? And why, as you put it, should it be a no-brainer for any GAA Fan to prefer to see either of those sides winning the World Cup, instead of their County/Club winning an All-Ireland?

Oh, and there aren't 26 billion people in the World either, nor next to near it.

Was watching Fawlty Towers the other night and the episode where the fella dies. One of the dead man's friends is the image of Enda Kenny as I think was Kenneth ''ooh matron'' Williams!

That should have read 2.6 Billion people. A hell of alot more than watches the All Ireland football final worldwide. Would it even get an audience of 26 million??

On a personal level i have experienced both my county and club win All ireland titles. A world title is just a wee bit different and may interest a wee bit more people world wide. It would also be another new experience for Me.

The soccer team I follow is also the Republic of Ireland and not once did I mention Northern Ireland in my post. People are free top chose to support whoever they want and like the majority of nationalists who take an interest in Soccer follow the Republic of Ireland or Ireland as it says on their jersey's.

Again this is just my opinion, your quite entitled to your own lad.

Mugsy, you didn't mention the Republic team in your original post either, so was just curious as to which one you meant.

As for it being your opinion, of course you are entitled to it. Just as all those 'ardent one eyed monster gaa fans' that you said should agree with you, are entitled to theirs.
